Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in orienting patients and their families to the therapeutic process and services offered, ensuring they understand their treatment journey.
  • Providing observation and therapeutic support to patients as per individualized treatment plans, ensuring a safe environment.
  • Responding promptly to patient emergencies, utilizing effective crisis intervention techniques as needed.
  • Proactively reporting any significant behavioral changes or concerns about your patients to the supervising nurse or other team members.
  • Advocating for additional services or modifications to treatment plans when deemed necessary, promoting holistic patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on providing comprehensive mental health services to a population that includes diverse individuals seeking help for various challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. You will play a critical role in supporting these patients, facilitating their journey toward improved mental wellness and healthier relationships.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
  • An independent license (LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW) issued by the state board is mandatory; provisional licenses will not be accepted.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills illustrating a sympathetic and empathetic nature while dealing with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, enabling effective use of telehealth platforms and documentation systems.
  • Proven ability to make professional evaluations and recommendations for treatment planning and implementation.
Preferred Experience
