Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments via teletherapy sessions to evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, documenting all findings accurately throughout the treatment process.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic interventions tailored to individual client needs, taking into account family dynamics and cultural factors.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic techniques drawn from recent developments in psychotherapy.
• Regularly monitor and assess client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers to create comprehensive intervention strategies and coordinate care for clients requiring hospitalization.
• Provide guidance and education to family members and primary caregivers for managing mental behavioral challenges in close relation to the clients' treatment plans.
• Prepare referrals to specialized services as needed, ensuring clients receive holistic, well-rounded care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Mental Health Counselor will work with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our clients may present with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Your role will be instrumental in helping these individuals navigate their challenges and improve their emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current active and valid licensure in Kansas as either LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C.
• A passing score on relevant national certifications such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to client interactions.

Preferred Experience

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in a related field is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Experience utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
• A background in addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions.
• Knowledge of the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Familiarity with psychotropic medications and their impacts on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits
