Work Environment

This position will be conducted remotely, utilizing telehealth systems designed for efficient communication and care delivery. You will work standard hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility for occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique needs and challenges faced by older adults.
  • Design and implement personalized treatment plans that take into consideration patients' cognitive, physical, and social environments.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including individual and family therapy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health care.
  • Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary health team to facilitate integrated and holistic care solutions.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and offer timely support during mental health emergencies affecting elderly patients.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Actively engage in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of current research and advancements in geriatric psychiatry to continuously enhance therapeutic approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be the geriatric population, addressing a wide range of mental health disorders that affect older adults. This role entails working closely with patients suffering from issues such as late-life depression, anxiety disorders, memory loss, and other dementia-related challenges. Your ability to connect with elderly individuals and their families will be vital in fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
  • Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders, with a commitment to employing evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, paired with a patient-centered and empathetic approach to therapy.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, particularly in providing therapy to older adults.

Compensation and Benefits

This role is compensated competitively, with a salary range of USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
