Intersystems HealthShare Developer

A Houston area non-profit organization is searching for an experienced InterSystems HealthShare Developer to join their team. This award-winning community-based organization enables healthcare providers to access and share data through a protected electronic network. This real-time networking system provides quick and reliable access to patient health information at the point of care, thereby increasing patient safety, improving outcomes and lowering the overall cost of care.

The candidate will be a member of an agile development team that values quality and collaboration. This position will require the candidate to participate in group design meetings, author effective and concise code, and conduct meaningful unit tests. As a member of the team, the candidate will interact with stakeholders of the business, including customers, management, vendors, and non-technical staff.

Experience

This position requires 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting and developing interfaces in InterSystems HealthShare (Health Information Exchange, Health Connect).

Responsibilities and technical requirements

The InterSystems HealthShare Developer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance and support of integration solutions for disparate healthcare systems and interfaces (EHR, HIS, PACS, Care Management, etc.).

The successful candidate will have proven experience with InterSystems HealthShare and the following:

  1. Proficiency in development languages such as ObjectScript
  2. Experience with InterSystems Ensemble and InterSystems IRIS
  3. Strong SQL and database skills (e.g., InterSystems Caché, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  4. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and modern DevOps practices
  5. Integration development experience to include:
  • IHE Profile Integrations (XDS.b, XDS-i, XCPD, XCA)
  • HL7 v2.x, HL7 V3/RIM Integrations, CCD and C-CDA documents
  • Medical Terminology Translation (SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm)
  • WS-Security, SOAP and PKI
