What is a Remote HEDIS Outreach Coordinator?

A Remote HEDIS Outreach Coordinator is a healthcare professional who works from a remote location to support the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) process. Their main responsibilities include contacting patients and providers to collect medical records and data, ensuring that required information is complete and accurate for quality assessments, and helping healthcare organizations meet HEDIS reporting requirements. This role typically involves phone outreach, data entry, and close attention to patient privacy and compliance standards. Effective communication skills and knowledge of healthcare terminology are important for success in this position.

How does a Remote HEDIS Outreach Coordinator typically collaborate with healthcare providers and members to ensure accurate data collection?

As a Remote Hedis Outreach Coordinator, you regularly communicate with both healthcare providers and members to gather and verify medical information needed for HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) reporting. This often involves scheduling outreach calls, educating members about required screenings or tests, and working closely with provider offices to obtain missing documentation. Effective coordinators use secure digital tools and follow clear communication protocols to maintain data accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations. Teamwork with internal quality assurance and clinical staff is also common to resolve data discrepancies and ensure deadlines are met.
