Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Contour is hiring an experienced field mechanic with diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for
multiple brands including Caterpillar and Komatsu. The Ideal Candidate has experience with
Crushing Equipment as well as Tractor/Trailer and Light Vehicle experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
At all times, display a high degree of professionalism. Must be able to perform diagnostics and
repairs in a timely manner. This position will require the technician to have and maintain a clean
driving record, free of any major infractions to operate company vehicles for their daily duties as
it will require the candidate to drive to various locations to perform duties at the respective job
sites when not working in a shop environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Skills
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas or be willing to learn:
  • Must have experience with diagnostic tools and on-board systems.
  • Must have experience with Caterpillar and Komatsu products.
  • Must have welding experience.
  • Ability to read and understand operation and service manuals, system schematics and technical drawings.
  • Ability to research and request parts as necessary for the jobs at hand.
  • Perform required repairs to systems such as, Engines, Transmissions, Final Drives, Brakes, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Electrical Systems.
  • Operate and test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance to prevent re-work from occurring.
  • Record and report usage of all components, parts, consumables, and other resources on their daily paperwork turned into their immediate supervisor.
  • Aid as necessary to the Contour, Carolina Wrecking, Carolina Concrete operations personnel with regards to G.E.T. removal and installation as well as other duties as required.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for equipment tasks and be willing to be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required. May be required to perform light welding and fabrication work as required, and other duties as required.

Requirements
  • 5 yr Light/Heavy Equipment Maintenance work experience
  • Pre-employment background check, drug/alcohol screen and physical
  • Random Drug Screenings
  • Clean MVR, as stated by our insurance company
  • No more than 3 MV in a 3 yr period
  • CDL required
  • Positive attitude
  • Paperwork completed neatly and on time
  • Team Player willing to share experience and knowledge
