Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to understand the needs, strengths, and treatment goals of clients seeking support for substance use disorders.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based interventions, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe space for clients to express their thoughts and feelings.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to integrated care.
• Provide crisis intervention and support, handling emergency situations with professionalism and efficacy.
• Educate clients and their families on recovery strategies, coping mechanisms, and available community resources for ongoing support.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in alignment with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development initiatives to enhance treatment practices.
• Stay informed about advancements in substance use disorder treatment and incorporate best practices into your work.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically emphasizes the treatment of individuals grappling with substance use disorders. You will work with a diverse clientele, returning to society after facing addiction challenges. By fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship, you will be integral to helping patients establish goals, develop coping strategies, and navigate their recovery journeys, ultimately improving their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California is essential.
• A solid understanding of substance use disorders, evidenced by your training and experience.
• Proficient in delivering both individual and group therapy within the context of addiction recovery.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client interactions.
• A commitment to maintaining professional ethics and patient confidentiality.
• Comfort and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
• A collaborative spirit, working effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a remote health care environment is preferred, demonstrating adaptability to virtual therapy methodologies.
• Knowledge of culturally specific aspects of addiction treatment and recovery.
• Experience in program development or innovations in therapy techniques specific to substance use treatment would be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
