Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of each individual’s mental health status.
• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that reflect their specific goals, preferences, and therapeutic needs, integrating their feedback into the therapeutic process.
• Implement evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address clients' mental health challenges effectively.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices, empowering them to take an active role in their mental health journey.
• Regularly monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Stay informed of the latest research and developments in the field of mood disorders, integrating new evidence into practice to enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with health record regulations.
• Participate actively in team meetings and professional development workshops, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Advocate for clients' mental health needs, promoting awareness and reducing stigma associated with seeking mental health support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals experiencing various mood disorders, including depression and anxiety, affecting diverse populations such as homeless individuals, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse. Your role is crucial in providing therapeutic support and fostering resilience among clients facing significant life challenges.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is mandatory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment of trusting therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude toward clients’ experiences, fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage a diverse caseload and administrative tasks.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in providing therapy to diverse populations with varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Familiarity with teletherapy modalities and online communication tools.
• Previous experience working in a community health setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
