The Mental Health Counselor will work remotely but will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse team of mental health professionals. This role allows you to develop your expertise in addressing a variety of mental health issues while engaging with clients and colleagues from the comfort of your home. With regular business hours and flexible options for occasional evening shifts, we ensure a balance between professional responsibilities and personal life, accommodating your schedule while prioritizing client care.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to accurately understand clients' mental health needs, leading to the development of tailored treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to provide effective counseling to individuals, groups, and families.
• Work collaboratively with case managers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care that addresses the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of clients.
• Provide crisis intervention for clients experiencing acute distress, ensuring compassionate support in emergency situations by employing crisis de-escalation techniques.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives, including workshops and seminars, to promote awareness of mental health resources and reduce associated stigma, enhancing community relations and support.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Greene Health, you will be primarily working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those coping with terminal illnesses and their families at our hospice center. This role requires a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges that arise during end-of-life care. Your work will focus on providing support, counseling, and resources to help individuals navigate grief, loss, and mental health challenges while honoring their unique experiences and cultural backgrounds.

• Must hold an active and independent license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A master’s degree or a doctorate in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and therapeutic relationships with clients from varied ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity, allowing for effective interaction with diverse populations.
• Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads efficiently and ensure timely documentation of client interactions and treatment progress.

• Prior experience working in a hospice or palliative care setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and remote counseling practices, ensuring comfort with virtual communication tools.
• Experience with integrating family therapy into the counseling process, enhancing client support.
