Job Description - Azure Data Engineer (ADF + SSIS)
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Azure Data Engineer with strong experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS to design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines. The role will support enterprise data warehouse and cloud modernization initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS
  • Build and manage data integration workflows across multiple sources (SQL Server, APIs, flat files, cloud storage)
  • Migrate and modernize legacy SSIS packages to Azure Data Factory pipelines
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines from Azure Data Lake / blob storage
  • Implement incremental data loads, scheduling, and orchestration
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Work with stakeholders for requirement gathering, data validation, and UAT
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across pipelines
  • Support CI/CD deployments using Azure DevOps
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures and production issues

Required Skills & Experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in Data Engineering / ETL
  • Strong hands-on experience in:
    • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
    • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
    • T-SQL (stored procedures, performance tuning)
  • Expertise in data warehousing concepts (fact/dimension, star schema)
  • Experience with Azure components:
    • Azure Data Lake / Blob Storage
    • Azure SQL / Synapse
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data pipelines, transformations, orchestration
    • Data modeling and ETL design principles
  • Experience with data migration to cloud (Azure)
  • Experience with Pyspark/python

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Azure Databricks
  • Exposure to Power BI / reporting tools
  • Experience in SSIS to ADF migration projects
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps
