What Does a Remote Health Data Analyst Do?

The job duties of a remote health data analyst include performing analysis on datasets related to the healthcare industry. In this career, you may work from home to gather relevant data from different sources, such as medical records, operational logs, and billing databases. The responsibilities of a health data analyst include using data to define healthcare trends, seek out areas for cost reduction, and analyze the cost and effectiveness of treatments. As a telecommute worker, you send reports to healthcare management personnel electronically, and you may have to communicate with them to answer questions after report submission.

What is a Remote Health Data Analyst?

A Remote Health Data Analyst is a professional who works primarily from a remote location to collect, process, and analyze healthcare data. They use statistical tools and software to interpret data from medical records, insurance claims, patient surveys, and other health information sources. Their insights help healthcare organizations improve patient care, optimize operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. Remote Health Data Analysts often collaborate with medical staff, IT teams, and administrators using digital communication tools. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data management systems.

How does a Remote Health Data Analyst typically collaborate with healthcare teams while working offsite?

Remote Health Data Analysts frequently collaborate with clinicians, IT professionals, and data scientists through digital communication tools such as video conferencing, secure messaging, and shared data platforms. Regular virtual meetings are common to discuss project progress, clarify data requirements, and ensure alignment on healthcare outcomes. While working remotely offers flexibility, it also requires proactive communication and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and maintain data security standards. Building trust and maintaining clear documentation are essential for effective remote teamwork in this role.

To thrive as a Remote Health Data Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, knowledge of healthcare data standards, and at least a bachelor's degree in health informatics, statistics, or a related field. Proficiency with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI are typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are vital soft skills for interpreting data and collaborating remotely with teams. These skills ensure accurate data insights, enable informed decision-making, and support the delivery of efficient healthcare services from a remote environment.

Job description

About Bandsintown

Bandsintown connects 100 million fans with live music: following artists, discovering concerts, and buying tickets. We are the leading concert discovery platform, powered by over 700,000 artists connected to the platform and integrated with Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and major ticketing platforms.

We are now expanding into live event production, leveraging our audience data and distribution to build a scalable and profitable entertainment business. This marks our first major product expansion beyond the platform.

Backed by:

  • Leading investors in the entertainment and technology sectors

  • Team: Over 90 employees across North America, Asia, and Europe

  • Culture: Data-driven, entrepreneurial, passionate about music

The role

We're looking for a full-stack developer to help build and evolve Bandsintown for Artists and Bandsintown Pro tools used by the music industry. You'll work closely with product and design to ship user-facing features quickly; while keeping what you build operable, observable, and documented. We run in an AWS environment.

What you will do
  • Build polished, performant React experiences with strong attention to UX details.

  • Develop Node.js backend capabilities that support the UI (APIs, workflows, integrations).

  • Instrument product features with analytics events and help measure impact (funnels, conversion, adoption) using tools like Mixpanel.

  • Deliver work using Jira (clear breakdowns, visibility, iteration).

  • Contribute to Backstage documentation (service ownership, key links, runbooks, dashboards).

  • Improve production quality through good testing, observability, and operational hygiene.

What you bring
  • 3+ years of practical experience in web development (full-stack or strong front-end with backend exposure).

  • Strong JavaScript / TypeScript skills.

  • Solid experience with React and modern web fundamentals (HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, performance basics).

  • Backend experience with Node.js (building APIs and working with data).

  • Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and automated testing (unit tests; integration tests are a plus).

  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Bilingual French-English (French understanding is sufficient if needed).

Bonus points (nice-to-haves)
  • Experience with AWS (especially serverless: Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS).

  • Product analytics tooling (e.g., Mixpanel, Segment, GA4, Amplitude) and good event taxonomy habits.

  • Observability/ops tooling: CloudWatch, Grafana, PagerDuty.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform / CloudFormation (or CDK).

  • Experience on scalable SaaS products, Docker, and CI/CD practices.

  • Agentic coding / AI-assisted development experience (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.). We actively encourage these tools, paired with strong reviews and solid tests.

  • A passion for music!

Why join us?
  • Work on a platform that 100M+ music fans and 700,000 artists use and love.

  • Be part of a small, high-leverage team: your components matter and you'll know it from the dashboards.

  • AI-native engineering culture: we use AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut. Specs, skills, and feedback loops are engineering artifacts here.

  • Fast-paced, international environment where you can learn and grow.

And also for benefits
  • Vacation: 4 weeks, which you can take right from the start without having to accrue them.

  • Schedule: 40 hours, except in July and August when we switch to 36 hours with "Summer Fridays" (no work in the afternoon!).

  • Work style: hybrid, travel, in-office, remote...

  • Health insurance: Active from day one! The employer pays 60% and you pay 40%. It covers prescription drugs, dental care, specialists, travel, and disability (short- and long-term).

  • Stipends: $15 per month for your music streaming subscriptions (cool!); $200 per year to treat yourself to concert tickets.

  • RRSP: The plan is currently being revised to be more advantageous, starting from your first year.
