Job description

Position Overview

Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) to join our team as full-time professionals providing vital therapy services remotely. In this role, you will engage with children and families facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, delivering individualized therapeutic interventions that promote healing and resilience.

About the Organization

Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic is a leading community health clinic located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, dedicated to delivering comprehensive mental health services to underserved populations. We focus on providing supportive and accessible mental health care by employing progressive methodologies informed by the latest therapeutic practices. Our mission encompasses improving mental health outcomes for children and adolescents, with a strong emphasis on their families. Our staff is passionate and committed to driving positive change and fostering well-being in our communities.

Work Environment

As a remote clinician, you will enjoy the flexibility that comes from working from home while being integrated within a supportive, interdisciplinary team. Our virtual work setting allows you to collaborate easily with fellow clinicians, specialists, and dedicated family support teams. Regular virtual meetings and case discussions will ensure that you feel connected and part of our larger mission, even when working remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-home and virtual therapy sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions in our outpatient clinic space when necessary.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, by teaching anger management, coping skills, and social skills.
  • Empower caregivers with decision-making strategies to address behavioral challenges at home, promoting a cohesive family environment.
  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and allied health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care and therapy.
  • Document all treatment activities, client interactions, and progress notes accurately and submit them within specified timeframes to facilitate ongoing evaluation and adjustments to care.
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss case progress, share insights, and contribute recommendations for service improvements.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with children aged 3 to 20 who possess developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, cognitive delays, and behavioral disorders. Working diligently with younger clients and their caregivers, you will play a pivotal role in fostering their social and emotional growth while empowering the family unit to navigate daily challenges. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is particularly beneficial as it enables you to reach a broader community and provide services to families in need.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • Must possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in the state of Tennessee.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4-7 PM, with the potential for weekend hours being a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are essential for any in-home visits.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience providing positive behavior support to children and adolescent clients.
  • A history of working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Experience participating in collaborative team-based environments is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 80,000 to 100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:

  • A dynamic and supportive work environment fostering professional relationships.
  • Comprehensive group health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Annual paid time off to promote work-life balance and well-being.
  • Short and long-term disability insurance to ensure financial stability in challenging times.
  • A 401(k) retirement plan with company matching to secure your financial future.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.

Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic is committed to your professional development and offers numerous pathways to advance your career within the organization. Engage in specialized training, attend workshops, and pursue certifications that align with your interests and enhance your practice. Collaboration with seasoned practitioners provides mentorship that fosters both personal and professional growth.
