Job description

Project Sales Executive Division 9 – Architectural Specialty Wood Ceiling Products

If you're done with unsatisfying project sales jobs where you spend all your time handling dreary admin, endlessly hunting leads, or performing post-sales client hand-holding, you'll love this role that plays to your strengths in negotiating, solution building and closing.

  • Full-time Project Sales role
  • Strong marketing support, consistent lead flow
  • 100% remote with national project scope

9Wood: Leaders in unique wood ceilings

9Wood is expanding its sales team. We're currently seeking experienced Sales Executives who know how to win opportunities, navigate commercial construction projects within a structured sales process, and win work in a competitive bid environment.

If you don't know us, our specialty is fabricating custom architectural wood ceilings that blend innovation, sustainability, and craftmanship. Our ceilings have been installed everywhere from universities, schools, auditoriums and hospitals to commercial offices all over North America.

How you'll benefit

We're a high-performing team of people who are genuinely passionate about what they do. Even in a fully remote role, you'll stay connected, supported, and set up to win.

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Paid Holidays and Personal Time Off (PTO) that increases with tenure
  • 401(k) Program, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Medical, Dental, Insurance for individual and immediate family
  • Health Savings Account and Health Reimbursement Account available
  • Life Insurance
  • Continuing education benefits
  • Monthly financial meetings (we show all employees where our financials are)

What You'll Do

This role is focused on developing relationships and driving projects forward from early design through final award. You'll:

  • Own the sales pipeline. Develop and manage a pipeline of commercial construction projects, partnering with architects, designers, general contractors, and subcontractors throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Develop the solution. You'll lead conversations, uncover project needs and budgeting, position 9Wood effectively, and close opportunities.
  • Collaborate to win. Work with architects, owners, developers, and contractors, demonstrate how our solutions add value and position 9Wood as the preferred wood ceiling solution.
  • Maintain visibility. Keep the CRM updated to support pipeline management and reporting.
  • Stay on top of the work. Be proactive, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders across multiple projects at once.

Unlike most sales roles, you won't be responsible for prospecting. Our marketing and product teams generate the opportunities.

Your job is to continue the conversation, consult, build the solution, and stay engaged through a long, complex sales cycle to win the work.

What We're Looking For

You know how to build momentum in a complex, project-driven environment. You're comfortable developing relationships, identifying opportunities early, and staying engaged through a long sales cycle.

You can manage multiple projects at different stages while maintaining consistent, disciplined follow-up. You ask direct questions, challenge assumptions when needed, and confidently ask for the business.

Experience in construction, architectural, or specification-based sales is a plus, but not required. What matters most is your ability to navigate multiple stakeholders, communicate clearly, and move opportunities forward.

Strong candidates will bring:

  • Experience in B2B or project-based sales
  • Ability to manage structured sales processes and complex stakeholder groups
  • High level of responsiveness and follow-through
  • Confidence leading conversations and closing business
  • Self-discipline in a remote or independent environment
  • Confidence handling phone conversations with customers and internal teams

9Wood is a proud, equal opportunity employer. We are a drug free, EEO employer committed to a diverse workforce. We will consider all qualified candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, political affiliation or veteran status.
