  • Identify, research, and resolve payroll accounting discrepancies, preparing corrective journal entries as needed.
  • Reconcile Fund Balance with Treasury (FBWT) to agency financial reporting and investigate variances.

  • Ensure all reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation comply with federal accounting standards, agency policies, and reporting requirements.

Requirements
  • BS and 2 (+) years' experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experienced accounting professional with strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proven team player with experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Experience supporting federal accounting operations, including general ledger activities and monthly financial close processes.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Ability to interpret and apply U.S. Treasury USSGL accounting scenarios or comparable private-sector accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience developing, documenting, and communicating financial management policies, procedures, and operational guidance.
  • Ability to implement and support changes to financial management practices and financial system operations.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex financial data and recommend effective solutions.
