Schedule: Flexible - 5 to 10 hours/week

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

Global Paint for Charity (GPC) is an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainability, innovation, and social impact through paint recycling and reuse. Since 2010, GPC has recovered over 5 million gallons of paint and distributed it to 44 countries, transforming the homes, schools, and communities of more than 15 million people worldwide.

Our mission is to turn waste into hope, bringing color, dignity, and opportunity to underserved communities while advancing circular economy solutions and environmental stewardship.

Joining GPC means becoming part of a global movement that combines sustainability, creativity, and human impact. As HR Coordinator, you’ll help expand our reach by recruiting and empowering the volunteers and interns who make our mission possible.

Position Overview

The Human Resources Coordinator will lead GPC’s volunteer and intern recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives. This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for a passionate HR professional or university student looking to gain meaningful experience in nonprofit leadership, global talent management, and organizational development.

You’ll work closely with the executive leadership team to shape GPC’s culture of collaboration and purpose—ensuring every new volunteer feels welcomed, supported, and aligned with our mission to change lives one gallon of paint at a time.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer & Intern Recruitment

  • Develop, post, and manage volunteer and internship opportunities across major platforms such as Handshake, LinkedIn, VolunteerMatch, and Indeed.
  • Identify partnerships with universities, student organizations, and professional networks to attract diverse and high-caliber talent.
  • Design and implement creative outreach campaigns that communicate GPC’s mission, impact, and opportunities for growth.

Onboarding & Engagement

  • Manage the full onboarding process, including orientation materials, welcome communications, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GPC data management systems (Google Sheets, Forms, and Drive).
  • Coordinate background checks, agreements, and file maintenance for all new volunteers.
  • Collaborate with technical and communications teams to enhance the virtual onboarding experience.

Human Resources Administration

  • Draft and edit volunteer role descriptions in collaboration with department leads.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer and intern records and produce regular onboarding status updates for the Executive Team and Board of Directors.
  • Monitor and recommend HR best practices that strengthen GPC’s volunteer experience, diversity, and engagement.

Culture & Values

  • Serve as an ambassador for GPC’s Core Values: Commitment, Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration, Respect, Professionalism, and Teamwork.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, recognition, and empowerment within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in HR coordination, volunteer management, or recruitment (internship experience accepted).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Forms, Docs, and Drive).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Passion for sustainability, social impact, and helping underserved communities.

Nonprofit experience or previous involvement with social impact organizations is a plus.

Time Commitment

  • 8-12 hours per week, flexible remote schedule.
  • 1–2 hours for virtual team or board meetings as needed.
  • Initial six-month term, with the opportunity for extension or transition into a leadership role based on performance and organizational needs.
