Job Overview:

The Manager, Content Governance & Copy Review is responsible for leading the governance, execution, and continuous improvement of content review and approval processes that support compliant commercial communications. This role partners across Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Legal, Health Care Compliance, Clinical, and Quality organizations to ensure promotional and educational materials meet applicable regulatory, legal, and company requirements while enabling an efficient and effective user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop external resources by establishing clear expectations, fostering accountability, supporting performance management and career development, and driving a culture of compliance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead copy approval operations, ensuring consistent execution of review processes, reviewer alignment, submission quality, and adherence to governance standards while partnering with commercial stakeholders to improve planning effectiveness and overall user experience.
  • Ensure effective facilitation of the content review process, including reviewer engagement, issue resolution, documentation of decisions, and verification of required updates prior to approval.
  • Partner across Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Legal, HCC, Clinical, and Copy Approval functions to drive process alignment, reviewer effectiveness, and consistent execution.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support claims governance, substantiation requirements, supporting documentation standards, and promotional content accuracy throughout the material lifecycle.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of copy approval governance documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, training materials, business rules, and process standards, ensuring consistent and compliant execution as requirements evolve.
  • Support compliance and quality activities, including audits, non-conformance management, CAPAs, effectiveness monitoring, and litigation documentation requests.
  • Maintain current regulatory and product knowledge to ensure quality decision making within Copy Approval.
  • Partner in AMP/content approval transformation activities, including stakeholder readiness, communications, training, adoption support, and change management across DePuy Synthes operating companies.
  • Support training and change management initiatives for copy approval processes, including the development and delivery of targeted training that promotes stakeholder readiness, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver KPI reporting, operational dashboards, trend analysis, and business insights to leadership, identifying opportunities to improve submission quality, reviewer effectiveness, process efficiency, and compliance outcomes.
  • Contribute to a customer-focused approach through high-quality, clear, and impactful communications.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience in copy approval, promotional review, regulatory affairs, medical communications, compliance, content governance, quality systems, or related functions within a regulated industry
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements impacting communications
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the review and approval of promotional, educational, or scientific materials within a regulated industry
  • Knowledge of process and compliance audits with internal Quality teams as well as external governing Regulatory bodies such as the FDA
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills within a matrixed organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and effectively navigate complex matrix organizations

Preferred:

  • Experience in orthopedic or medical technology sectors
  • Familiarity with professional medical education programs and content development
  • Experience with digital learning platforms and modern content delivery methods
  • Knowledge of copy approval systems and workflows (e.g., Veeva, Aprimo, or similar tools)
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including performance management, coaching, talent development, and succession planning
  • Experience creating and delivering training to diverse user groups
  • Experience leading process improvement, digital transformation, change management, or technology implementation initiatives
  • Experience developing or maintaining SOPs, governance standards, quality system documentation, CAPA activities, audit readiness programs, or compliance monitoring processes

On October 14, 2025, Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$102,000.00 - $177,100.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
