To thrive in a Remote Gig, strong self-motivation, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently are essential, while specific qualifications depend on the nature of each project (such as writing, design, programming, or customer service). Familiarity with collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, and project management software such as Trello or Asana is often beneficial, and certain gigs may require certifications or proficiency in relevant platforms or software. Adaptability, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving are key soft skills that set top remote gig workers apart. These skills ensure productivity, professional reliability, and smooth collaboration in a flexible and often fast-paced remote work environment.

What can I expect from the work environment and team structure in a remote gig?

In a remote gig role, you can typically expect to work independently from your chosen location, often with flexible hours depending on project deadlines and client expectations. Communication and collaboration usually occur via digital tools such as email, chat platforms, or project management systems, rather than face-to-face or in-person meetings. Depending on the nature of the gig, you may work with a variety of clients or as part of a virtual team, and regular check-ins or updates are common to ensure alignment. This setup allows for a high degree of autonomy but also requires you to be proactive and responsive to maintain clear communication and deliver quality results.

Job description

Now Hiring: Remote Associate Attorney | New Mexico-Based | No Billables | No Sales

New Gig Solutions is excited to partner with a long-established, mission-driven law firm that has been advocating for individuals facing financial hardship since 2011. With a presence in multiple states and a trusted model that consistently delivers results, the firm is expanding to meet continued demand—and is now hiring a remote Associate Attorney based in New Mexico.

Position: Associate Attorney
Location: Remote (Must reside in New Mexico)
Bar Admission: Must be licensed and in good standing with the NM Bar
Experience: 1–5 years of litigation or negotiation experience

About the Firm:

Founded in 2011, this firm has helped thousands of working-class clients resolve financial and legal challenges with dignity. They focus on debt resolution, creditor issues, and tenant disputes—work that makes a tangible impact. Their approach is grounded in empathy, fairness, and a genuine commitment to work-life balance.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking meaningful, mission-driven legal work—without the typical pressures of billables, business development, or late nights. You'll be provided with a steady caseload, all necessary remote tools, and full support from an experienced legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage client matters from intake through resolution

· Negotiate with creditors and opposing counsel

· Handle cases involving debt collection, financial hardship, or tenant rights

· Use the firm's Salesforce-based system to track progress and manage communications

· Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and administrative staff

What You Won't Do:

· No billable hour requirements

· No sales or client acquisition

· No fee generation responsibilities

· No late nights—standard 9-to-6 schedule with real balance

Ideal Candidate Profile:

· NM license and New Mexico residency required

· 1–5 years of litigation, negotiation, or relevant legal experience

· Background in consumer law, financial disputes, or personal injury is a PLUS

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Committed to a full-time role (not running their own practice on the side)

· Passionate about helping underserved or vulnerable populations

What You'll Receive:

· Competitive salary and benefits package

· Fully remote work setup (laptop, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc.)

· Access to the firm's Salesforce-based case portal

· Consistent, meaningful caseload

· Mentorship from an experienced Managing Attorney
