Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, utilizing evidence-based screening tools to evaluate students' mental health issues and concerns.

• Develop custom treatment plans based on individual assessments, addressing the unique goals and challenges of each student.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing proven therapeutic techniques to guide students toward recovery and resilience.

• Coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including educators and healthcare providers, to create a supportive network for our clients.

• Engage in family education, providing resources and guidance to help families understand and support their child’s mental health journey.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of all client interactions and treatment plans, ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves the youth population within the school system, addressing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stress management, and behavioral concerns. Counselors will engage with students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring culturally competent care that acknowledges and respects individual differences.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.

• A minimum of two years of experience working in mental health counseling, particularly within a school or similar environment.

• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices for managing diverse mental health disorders.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on establishing rapport and motivating students throughout their therapeutic journey.

• Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities that facilitate collaborative and effective treatment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in school-based mental health services, demonstrating the ability to work within an educational framework.

• Familiarity with crisis intervention and management techniques, ensuring that immediate needs of students are addressed promptly.

• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective group therapy models tailored to youth.

Compensation and Benefits
