Job Description:
When you join us, you'll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of "helping people live the healthiest lives possible." You'll practice big-city medicine with a small-city feel.
About this role
This is a PRN General Orthopedic Surgeon position to help cover 24-hour call coverage at Platte Valley Hospital, a level III trauma community hospital in Brighton, CO. The team consists of 3 orthopedic surgeons, 3 podiatrists and 5 experienced APPs. Longer coverage gaps may be available for covering total joint arthroplasty clinic and OR duties, depending on timing.
An ideal candidate will be board certified in Orthopedic Surgery with a desire to take orthopedic trauma call and work PRN with a variable schedule. Call consists of 24-hour shifts: weekdays, weekends, or weekly, covering level III community trauma. There will be no hand call or spine call. The DPMs take all foot and ankle calls.
Any fellowship training or general orthopedic surgeons are encouraged to apply.
Compensation for PRN shifts
  • $1,416 per 24 hours
  • Hourly rate - $394/hour
  • Travel and accommodations reimbursed via the Intermountain Travel and Expense policy

What you'll bring
  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree; or equivalent if education is completed outside the United States
  • Completion of graduate fellowship medical education training program in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Graduate education must be obtained through an ACGME or AOA accredited institution
  • ABMS or equivalent AOA Board Certification in the specialty(s) or subspecialty(s) of practice
  • Active Medical Licensure, or in process of obtaining licensure, is required in the state in which physician will practice
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • DEA Registration schedules II-V
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process
