About the Firm

Our client is a fast-growing, technology-driven accounting and advisory firm that partners with small and mid-sized businesses to provide accounting, financial reporting, advisory, and client accounting services.

This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys working directly with clients, building trusted relationships, and helping business owners make better financial decisions.

This is not a corporate accounting or internal accounting role.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as a primary relationship manager for a portfolio of business clients
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Provide accounting, reporting, and advisory support to business owners
  • Identify trends, issues, and opportunities within client financials
  • Collaborate with clients on accounting, tax, and operational matters
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Partner with internal team members to deliver exceptional client service
What We're Looking ForRequired
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Recent public accounting, Client Advisory Services (CAS), outsourced accounting, or client accounting experience
  • Experience working directly with small and mid-sized business clients
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
  • Strong month-end close, general ledger, and reconciliation experience
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
Strongly Preferred
  • CPA or CPA-eligible
  • Experience in a CPA firm, CAS practice, or outsourced accounting environment
  • QuickBooks Online and cloud-based accounting systems experience
  • Tax exposure and understanding of business tax entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs, etc.)
Ideal Backgrounds

Candidates from the following environments tend to be the strongest fit:

  • Public Accounting Firms
  • Client Advisory Services (CAS)
  • Outsourced Accounting Firms
  • Fractional Accounting / Fractional Controller Practices
  • Small Business Accounting & Advisory Firms
Less Relevant Backgrounds

This role is generally not aligned with candidates whose experience is primarily in:

  • Corporate Accounting
  • FP&A
  • Banking
  • Internal Audit
  • Investment Accounting
  • Property Accounting
  • Internal Controller Roles without client-facing responsibilities
Why Join
  • Fully remote flexibility
  • Direct exposure to business owners and leadership teams
  • Advisory-focused work with real client impact
  • Diverse client base across multiple industries
  • Growth-oriented, collaborative culture
  • Opportunity to become a trusted advisor—not just prepare financials
Bottom Line

If you have a background in public accounting, client advisory services, or outsourced accounting and enjoy partnering directly with business owners, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while building long-term client relationships.
