Senior Manager, Remote Screening Sites:
The Logistics functional area department is responsible for effectively and efficiently providing logistics support to all LA28 functional areas. The Senior Manager, Remote Screening Sites will be responsible for coordinating with the LA28 Security Functional Area and relevant law enforcement entities on Remote Screening Sites (RSS). This will include the determination of appropriate locations, designing the sites to meet demand, allocating resources effectively, developing project schedules, recruiting and training staff, and overseeing the delivery and operation of the Remote Screening Sites. The role will also coordinate with the LA28 Security functional area on other projects such as the Vendor Certification Program (VCP) and Material Transfer Area (MTA) operations at venues.
Reporting to the Head of Venue Logistics, the ideal candidate will play a critical role in the security of logistics operations for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Key Responsibilities:
Personnel Supervision
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to the Remote Screening Site operations
  • Assist with the development and delivery of staff training programs, ensuring direct reports and staff are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and safety awareness
  • Monitor staff performance and productivity, offering coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to maintain high standards across the RSS teams
  • Support and foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture that reflects LA28's values and commitment to excellence

Planning
  • Develop and track budgets for RSS logistics operations
  • Verify resource requirements (staff, equipment, services) for RSS locations
  • Coordinate and confirm resource responsibilities with LA28 Security and NSSE (National Security Special Event)
  • Contribute to the drafting, refining, publishing, and distribution of the Delivering to Venues Guide
  • Write relevant Logistics policies, procedures, and operating plans for Remote Screening Sites with input/review of LA28 Security and NSSE staff
  • Coordinate with LA28 Security and NSSE staff on planning and delivering the Vendor Certification Program - a program designed to certify qualified vendors to deliver direct to venues based on meeting strict security guidelines and staff requirements
  • Define with LA28 Security and NSSE staff the venue locations and operations for Material Transfer Areas (MTAs)

Operations
  • Oversee the daily operations of RSS locations during Games-time
  • Monitor RSS activities across all sites using command center tools and dashboards to proactively address operational trends and disruptions
  • Lead incident response and resolution for logistics-related issues at Remote Screening Sites, providing timely updates to stakeholders and escalating as necessary
  • Support the execution of contingency plans and emergency procedures, ensuring logistics operations adapt quickly to changes
  • Participate in daily briefings, debriefings, and situation reports to communicate logistics status, risks, and recovery actions

Background & Requirements:
  • 7+ years of progressive logistics, security, and/or venue operations leadership experience
  • Proven management abilities overseeing workforce of 5+ direct reports and 25+ staff members
  • Excellent analytical skills: ability to make decisions both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong technical skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • A team player with a strong service focus and a desire to go the extra mile
  • Demonstrate ability in upward / downward communication
  • Competence to present and clearly communicate to audiences in a multitude of public / private settings, as required
  • Willing to work on complex, tight, immovable timelines while maintaining a positive attitude, exhibiting patience, persistence and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment
  • High attention to detail

Education:
  • An undergraduate degree in Logistics, Criminal Justice, or relevant field preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Expectation to work in LA28 offices in Los Angeles
  • Primarily office-based conditions with extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and attending virtual or in-person meetings.
  • Occasional travel to various venues, warehouses, or vendor meetings may be required.

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $126,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
