Job description

Description

Whisker is redefining what it means to live with cats-designing intelligent systems that remove friction, elevate the everyday, and celebrate the quiet brilliance of feline companionship. Today, Litter-Robot leads the category. Tomorrow, an entire ecosystem that expands what's possible for cats and the people who love them. We believe the future is feline. And we're imagining that future today.

Our team of 700+ passionate pet people thrives on collaboration, innovation, and the occasional office cameo from a four-legged friend. This position is open to remote, US candidates only.

Whisker Marketing

We are building the world's first great cat brand. Not simply a marketing function, but an engine of cultural change. Our work elevates cats and cat parents, rewrites the norms of pet culture, and expands the future of the category we created. We do this by operating full-stack-from deep consumer insight to breakthrough brand expression to world-class growth execution. And we're just getting started.

What You'll Do:

We're building an evolved growth function alongside our paid performance channels: Organic Performance - aka the "Loops" team. This role exists to build a compounding growth engine that operates alongside paid performance as a primary driver of acquisition and revenue.

We are looking for someone who knows how to grow a D2C business and consumer brand through non-paid channels - and who sees brand, content, PR, search, and influencer as levers of revenue, not just awareness. This candidate should be immersed in AI workflows to increase team output and compound our internal efforts.

This role is for someone who has a track record of building:

  • Social strategies that convert
  • PR that wins and drives demand
  • Organic traffic that compounds over time

Someone who understands how influencers show up across both organic and paid-and knows how to integrate it into a unified growth engine.

And more recently; someone obsessed with AI solutions within marketing that drive real change.

This is a role for a builder. Someone who can bring all of these pieces together, build the system behind them, and turn them into something that wins at scale. They see how it all connects, and know how to make it perform. This role is responsible for creating the systems, loops, and infrastructure that turn customer behavior, content, and product experiences into scalable, measurable growth. And, who loves cats .. yes, that's real!

This role will oversee a team encompassing PR, Influencer, Social, SEO / GEO and Marketing AI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

  • Designs, builds, and scales compounding growth loops that turn user behavior into new user acquisition
  • Identifies where product usage, content, and brand interactions naturally create distribution
  • Improves loop efficiency (conversion, share rate, velocity, amplification)
  • Expands loops beyond marketing into product and customer experience surfaces
  • Establishes organic as a measurable, accountable growth channel on par with paid
  • Defines KPIs (loop coefficient, organic conversion, compounding traffic, revenue contribution)
  • Builds attribution models across fragmented and multi-touch organic journeys
  • Creates a continuous experimentation system to drive optimization and scale
  • Owns how Whisker is discovered across search, social, PR, influencer, and AI-driven surfaces
  • Evolves SEO into a broader discovery system (including LLM / AI visibility, answer engines, and emerging platforms)
  • Ensures every surface contributes to loop creation, amplification, or conversion
  • Builds the automation and systems layer that powers organic growth at scale
  • Identifies manual workflows and replaces them with scalable, programmatic solutions
  • Develops or orchestrates tools, agents, and pipelines that accelerate: Content creation, Insight generation and Distribution and amplification
  • Partners with Engineering and Data to create new growth capabilities (e.g., real-time insight loops, automated content systems, adaptive messaging engines)
  • Identifies and operationalizes the most powerful customer insights, behaviors, and "fanaticism signals"
  • Turns these signals into repeatable growth mechanisms
  • Builds systems that continuously surface and act on emerging opportunities
  • Partners with Product to increase shareability, visibility, and organic reach by design
  • Embeds growth loops and organic thinking across Marketing, Product, and Customer Experience
  • Ensures major initiatives are designed with distribution and amplification in mind
  • Acts as the connective layer between brand, content, product, and performance
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required

Leadership Responsibilities

Directly supervises department Teams. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following Whisker policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, and hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing team issues, and upholding safety and quality guidelines.

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, eCommerce, or related field
  • 10+ years in growth, discovery, or performance-oriented marketing
  • Proven ability to drive measurable acquisition and revenue impact through organic channels
  • Strong systems thinking-you naturally design scalable solutions vs one-off tactics
  • Experience using AI, APIs, automation, or no-code/low-code tools to build marketing systems
  • Ability to connect brand, content, product, and growth into a unified engine
  • Comfort operating at both strategic and highly technical levels
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)

Benefits & Purrks:

Join a tenacious, inventive company that empowers team members to chart their own path, lead by grounding decisions in the "why", and has a strong sense of empathy and openness to new perspectives.
