Job description

  • This is a remote position open to candidates based in Australia
  • About Gaming Arts

Gaming Arts, LLC is a gaming technology company in a period of focused growth and reinvention. We design and deliver casino entertainment solutions across the U.S. and Canada, building on a strong foundation in bingo and keno while actively expanding our portfolio of video slot machines and electronic table games.

We’re investing in our future by strengthening our platforms, modernizing our infrastructure, and building the teams that will take our products forward. This is a moment of momentum at Gaming Arts: new ideas, new systems, and a renewed commitment to quality, performance, and collaboration. This is a pivotal time to join a company that’s building forward with intention.

    About The Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Game Development) to help build the production software behind our slot gaming products from concept through casino deployment. This role focuses on developing high-quality, reliable game code designed to perform in regulated, high-volume gaming environments.

You will work closely with designers, artists, mathematicians, and engineers to transform approved game concepts into fully functional, certification-ready titles within our slot platform. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong ownership, execution discipline, and a commitment to delivering production-ready software.

    What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including Game Designers, Artists, Sound Designers, and Engineers to deliver engaging gaming experiences.
  • Develop game software using C++17 within our slot platform framework.
  • Implement game logic, bonus mechanics, paytable functionality, animation triggers, and game state systems.
  • Integrate mathematical models into scalable game architecture.
  • Translate design and technical documentation into clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Optimize performance within hardware and platform constraints.
  • Debug and resolve complex technical issues throughout development, QA, and certification.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and issues clearly with stakeholders across engineering, QA, art, and product teams.
  • Ensure compliance with jurisdictional and regulatory requirements prior to certification submission.
  • What Success Looks Like
  • Delivering games that move smoothly through development and certification.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and scalable code.
  • Meeting development timelines through strong execution discipline.
  • Identifying technical risks early and resolving them proactively.
  • Collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Consistently delivering highquality work on schedule.
  • What You Bring
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong professional experience with C++ (C++17 preferred).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proven experience contributing to shipped commercial software.
  • Strong understanding of objectoriented design principles.
  • Experience with structured development workflows and version control.
  • Strong debugging and systemslevel problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently from technical requirements and documentation.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to consistently deliver quality software on schedule.
  • Nice to Haves
  • Experience in regulated or compliancedriven industries.
  • Experience with embedded or hardwareconstrained systems.
  • Gaming, realtime systems, or interactive entertainment experience.
  • Linux development experience.
  • Experience with JIRA and Git.
  • Equal Employment Opportunity

At Gaming Arts, we believe great ideas come from diverse perspectives. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to building a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law.
