Who we are:

Vident Advisory serves as a valued partner to asset managers and sponsors, offering portfolio management, trading, operational, and capital markets expertise across indexed and active strategies. The role requires a solid understanding of investment operations across multiple asset classes and the systems that support them and takes on a greater degree of independent ownership and problem-solving than an entry-level analyst position. Key Responsibilities:

  • Start-of-Day (SOD) Controls and Data Validation
    • Perform daily SOD checks on pricing, reference data, curves, corporate actions, and other inputs supporting portfolios across asset classes.
    • Monitor automated data pipelines, investigate breaks or missing data, and re-run or escalate processes as needed to ensure accurate downstream reporting and valuation.
  • Trade Execution, Booking, and Cash Activity (Bloomberg AIM or comparable platform)
    • Oversee daily trade executions, matching, and booking of T+1 activity into the portfolio/accounting system, including creations/redemptions (cash and in-kind), custody FX trades, distributions, fees, and miscellaneous cash entries.
    • Ensure accurate reflection of position and cash impacts across systems and coordinate with custodians and fund accountants on discrepancies.
  • Margin, Collateral, and Corporate Actions
    • Manage daily margin calls and instruct associated collateral movements as needed.
    • Monitor corporate actions, submit elections and instructions as required, and verify post-event position and cash outcomes.
  • Reconciliations and Settlements
    • Perform daily position and cash reconciliations between internal systems, custodians, and fund accounting records.
    • Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks related to pricing, accruals, FX, timing, or booking issues.
    • Support timely settlement of trades, following up on failed or delayed settlements with brokers and custodians.
  • Brokerage & Custodial Relationships
    • Maintain existing brokerage and custodial relationships and assist with new account onboardings.
  • Ongoing Operational Support
    • Assist with month-end and period-end processes, NAV support, portfolio reporting, and audit or regulatory data requests.
    • Help maintain and build technology to support investment trading and portfolio management, and contribute to process improvements, documentation, and control enhancements as product complexity grows.

Who you are:

  • M.B.A./Bachelor's degree in finance (or related major) required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the investment management industry with a focus on nvestment operations across multiple asset classes, portfolio support, fund accounting, or middle/back office functions.
  • Candidates must be analytical, detail-oriented, and precise with numbers, with a solid understanding of securities/fund industry investment concepts and strategies, and the ability to trace data and cash flows across multiple systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with operational data and reconciliations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external counterparties across different time zones.
  • Experience with Bloomberg AIM or other portfolio and fund accounting platforms (e.g., SimCorp, Geneva, Advent, SS&C).
  • Experience with derivatives (futures, options, swaps, etc.) and their settlement and lifecycle events.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, or similar tools used to automate checks, analyze data, or improve operational workflows
  • Exposure to multi-asset portfolios or ETF creation/redemption mechanics.
  • Team player with strong quantitative, analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Align with Vident core values of Inspired Collaboration, Honor & Authenticity, Inclusion & Humility, Exceptional Performance and Intellectual Curiosity
