Job description

About GlossGenius
GlossGenius is the AI-powered system behind the world's most meaningful appointments, helping 100,000+ service businesses earn more revenue and free up time for the work they love. Our agentic workforce gets more clients in the door, grows profit per appointment, and keeps clients coming back - doing the jobs owners never had time for and couldn't justify hiring to fill. Businesses on GlossGenius process billions in annual payment volume, and see 65% more revenue using GlossGenius Payments by growing ticket size, rebooking clients at checkout, and saving on processing fees.
About the Role
Every product team at GlossGenius builds on the App Platform, and right now, the App Platform is being rebuilt to keep pace with and match the ambition of what we're shipping. As Staff Frontend Engineer, you'll own the technical direction of the web platform: the shared UI frameworks, component libraries, tooling, and release infrastructure that determine how fast every other team can move. This isn't a feature role; it's a force multiplier role. The person in this seat will set a new standard for what great frontend engineering looks like at GlossGenius, embed AI-powered development practices across the org, and raise the ceiling on what's buildable. If the platform you design works well, dozens of engineers ship faster, break less, and spend more time on the work that actually matters.
You must be commutable to our NYC office and will operate in a hybrid environment. We default to being in-office 3-4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What You'll Do
  • Architect and drive the development of scalable, reusable frontend components and shared libraries that every product team at GlossGenius builds on top of
  • Define the long-term technical direction of the web platform: framework decisions, architecture patterns, developer experience, and own those decisions through execution
  • Champion AI-powered development tools across the engineering org: establish best practices for how engineers at GlossGenius use AI tools and set the standard for what AI-assisted frontend engineering looks like in production
  • Own frontend tooling, build pipelines, and developer workflows end to end, with a relentless focus on increasing velocity across teams
  • Set the bar for frontend best practices: code quality, accessibility, performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, design system consistency. And actively raise it across engineering through code reviews, architectural decisions, and cross-functional technical leadership
  • Identify systemic problems before they become blockers and drive solutions that have broad impact across multiple teams, not just the one you're working with directly
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams org-wide to deliver a cohesive, high-quality web experience across every surface

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with a track record of leading high-impact technical work and owning platform-level decisions, not just shipping features
  • Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture, and a track record of using AI tooling to push the quality and velocity of that work beyond what's manually achievable at scale
  • Deep understanding of web performance and experience using AI-assisted tooling to diagnose and resolve performance issues faster than traditional debugging cycles allow
  • You use tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot to architect, debug, and ship, and you've actively shaped how the teams around you adopt AI-assisted development practices
  • Proven experience building and evolving component libraries, design systems, or shared UI frameworks that other engineers rely on.
  • Drive to ownership and action, you don't wait for a fully defined problem to start building, you set a technical direction, move, and adjust based on what you learn in production
  • Strong communicator who can influence technical direction and align stakeholders across teams without relying on positional authority

Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive health & dental insurance options, effective on your first day of employment
  • Flexible PTO
  • In-office lunch twice per week for NYC and SF employees, plus late night dinner stipends
  • Access to Wellhub, a corporate wellness platform with discounted gym memberships, fitness classes, and mental health resources
  • Annual stipend for professional development and continued learning
  • High performers at 5 years receive a generous stipend to use however you recharge best
  • 401k benefit: employees are eligible to contribute starting day 1 of employment
  • Dependent Care FSA
  • Paid parental leave
  • Fertility and adoption benefits via Carrot and Kindbody

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $241,000-$284,000+ target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius's equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
At GlossGenius, we celebrate our differences and are committed to creating a workplace where all employees feel supported and empowered to do their best work. We believe this benefits not only our employees but our product, customers, and community as well. GlossGenius is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
