Job description

Overview
Corporate Tools is looking for a Front-End Engineering Manager. Being a Front-End Engineering Manager, you'll lead 2-3 product teams (6-10 developers), overseeing project planning, technical direction, and team growth. Your focus will be on leadership and decision-making, ensuring high-quality product delivery while supporting developers in their success. You won't just manage from the sidelines-you'll be directly involved in technical projects, collaborating with your team on coding, design, and troubleshooting, all while leading by example. You'll be there to guide your team, helping them grow into their best selves both as engineers and people, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and collaboration. At the same time, you'll ensure the smooth delivery of software to users, offering support and training when needed, and celebrating the victories that come from a job well done.
Wage
Up to $150,000 / year
Benefits
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental & vision Full coverage for employees - nothing comes out of your paycheck. Plus an annual review with a raise option.
  • Time off that grows with you 22 days PTO + 4 holidays to start. After 3 years it bumps to 29 days, and after 5 years you move to flexible time off - not accrued, not capped. Take time off when you want.
  • Parental leave & 401(k) match Paid parental leave, plus up to 6% company 401(k) matching with no vesting period - it's yours from day one.
  • Quarterly allowance Spend it on whatever makes work better: a comfier remote setup, continuing-education classes, a plant for your desk, coffee for a coworker, a massage for yourself... really, whatever.
  • No dumb perks (and a trail mix bar) No weekend dog-walking gimmicks that look cool but cost nothing because nobody uses them. We spend on benefits you'll actually use - an open-concept office, friendly coworkers, a creative environment, and yeah... a trail mix bar.

Responsibilities
  • Manage 2-3 product teams, driving productivity, morale, and technical excellence.
  • Oversee project planning, prioritization, and resource allocation, including time-off management.
  • Guide front-end architecture and make final technical decisions within your domain.
  • Uphold high standards in front-end development, ensuring usability, accessibility, and performance in every product we deliver.
  • Mentor developers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
  • Identify and hire top front-end talent, ensuring cultural and technical fit.
  • Navigate challenges with professionalism, addressing difficult situations with fairness and integrity.
  • Support company priorities and goals and foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Prioritize project planning, resource allocation, and removing roadblocks, so teams can focus on innovation and execution.
  • Set clear expectations, communicate openly, and foster an environment of trust and collaboration.

Requirements
  • Experience leading small teams (managing multiple teams is a plus).
  • Strong background in front-end development, including WordPress (PHP), JavaScript, HTML/SCSS, and Git. Experience with front-end frameworks like Vue or React is a plus.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute projects while balancing business needs.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, mentorship, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
