The Job You Will Perform: 

Purpose: A solution architect provides tailored architectural solutions to meet the requirements of specific projects and initiatives. They combine deep technical expertise with business understanding to guide product teams, sponsor innovation, and maintain architectural cohesion.

The IT Solution Architect for our Commercial & Sales Enablement - Data & Analytics team will own and evolve the data and solution architecture supporting consolidated enterprise reporting, while translating business needs into reliable technical roadmaps and implementation patterns. They will develop and support data warehouse and batch-processing capabilities; design solution architecture; guide delivery teams; ensure stability, accuracy, and standards alignment. Their primary stakeholders will be business data stewards, product and delivery teams, managed service provider teams, architects, developers, engineers, and business stakeholders. Their main focus will be on reliable, accurate, on-time data processing, especially for financial month-end close, paired with architecture cohesion, risk mitigation, and quality management.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Understanding of a specific product or group of internal systems / software

    • Develop, maintain, optimize, and support in-house data warehousing systems used for consolidated sales, freight, unit track, and related enterprise reporting.

    • Extract and receive data from disparate manufacturing and business systems, including ordering, invoicing, production, shipping, AR/AP.

    • Manage and support master data systems used for commercial reporting.

    • Transform data into consistent warehouse formats for downstream consumers and ensure data outputs remain aligned with system architecture.

    • Monitor batch jobs and data movement, troubleshoot issues, and intervene to keep processing timely, accurate, and stable.

  • Knowledge of agile principles and development practices

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and team skills (with both tech and business stakeholders)

  • Deep understanding of the current and future technology architecture, including inter-operability of technologies

  • Defines technical direction and architecture patterns to managed service provider (MSP) product / delivery teams 

  • Translates business requirements into solution architecture and technical roadmaps

  • Collaborates with product / delivery teams on user stories and solution design decisions

  • Assesses technology trends, product performance, and ensures adherence to architectural standards

  • Partners with architects, stakeholders, and MSP to align solutions and complete projects

  • Coaches developers and engineers while acting as the technical knowledge expert for the product

  • Coordinates with Enterprise Architects and Platform Architects to ensure solutions adhere to target state designs and standards

Education and General Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent degree or experience

  • Excellent technical understanding of the primary technology that they are responsible

  • Good knowledge of industry trends and best practices

  • Typically has 5 to 10 years of IT experience with majority in their primary platform of responsibility
