What is a remote freelance contract analyst?

Remote Freelance Contract Analysts are professionals who review, draft, and negotiate legal contracts for clients while working independently and remotely. They help organizations mitigate risks by ensuring that contractual terms are clear, fair, and compliant with relevant laws. As freelancers, they typically manage their own clients and schedules, providing services on a contract-by-contract basis rather than as full-time employees. Their work can span various industries, including technology, healthcare, and finance.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote freelance contract analyst?

To thrive as a Remote Freelance Contract Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of contract law or business administration, often backed by a relevant degree or certifications. Familiarity with contract management software, e-signature platforms, and collaboration tools like DocuSign or Adobe Acrobat is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for managing client expectations and deadlines independently. These competencies ensure accurate contract review, risk mitigation, and reliable client service in a remote and flexible work environment.

How does a remote freelance contract analyst effectively collaborate with legal and business teams while working independently?

As a Remote Freelance Contract Analyst, you’ll frequently interact with legal, procurement, and business units through virtual meetings, email, and collaborative platforms. Clear communication and proactive scheduling are key to overcoming the challenges of not being onsite. You'll need to manage your time efficiently to address requests across different time zones and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on contract terms and revisions. Regular updates and documentation also help maintain transparency and build trust while working independently.

If you thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment and enjoy going above and beyond, we’d love to meet you. Come explore one of our many opportunities and grow with us!

How You'll Make an Impact
As a Contract Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and successful execution of client agreements and sales orders. You will own the contract fulfillment process from contract award through agreement setup, billing readiness, and operational handoff. Your attention to detail and ability to interpret contractual requirements will directly impact revenue accuracy, client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and successful service delivery. You will collaborate with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Service Delivery, and Project teams to ensure all contractual obligations are accurately translated into our systems and processes.

Location and Work Expectations

  • This is a remote position; however, team members should be willing and able to travel if the need arises, though such travel is expected to be infrequent. Candidates with proximity to one of our Centers of Excellence are preferred (Lombard, IL; McLean, VA; Shreveport, LA; Overland Park, KS).

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Monitor and manage the sales order pipeline to ensure timely processing.
  • Review signed agreements, quotes, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Convert product and labor items from sales orders to the appropriate operational teams for execution.
  • Create and maintain recurring client agreements within ConnectWise and related systems.
  • Configure agreement billing, contract start dates, renewal dates, and cancellation dates.
  • Process agreement additions, removals, and modifications while ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Validate service changes against vendor portals, client records, and internal documentation before processing.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and system configurations.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure billing accuracy and prevent revenue leakage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve contract discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with automation initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation, procedures, and training materials.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

You'll Be Successful in This Role If You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in contract administration, contract analysis, billing operations, finance operations, or a related field.
  • Experience working with CRM systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Office 365 skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
  • Experience documenting processes and maintaining procedural documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and process efficiency.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
  • Experience supporting recurring revenue or subscription-based services.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience with process automation or workflow improvement initiatives.

Required Language Skills:

  • Ability to communicate professionally, in English, both written and orally
  • Ability to write business correspondence and process procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public

The base pay range for this position is expected to be between $65,000 and $75,000 per year. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and PTO. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
