Job Description:

  • Lead development or redesign of mechanical products
  • Assuming responsibility for execution of activities including mechanical design, mechanical analysis, engineering documentation, costing, and scheduling.
  • Develop and/or supervise design concepts, calculations, layouts, parts, assemblies, pneumatic schematics, and detail drawings
  • Ensure that drawings, documentation and BOM’s meet company, industry and customer standards
  • Monitor and provide mechanical engineering support during the flow of a design through fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning
  • Work with design groups to resolve product-related issues and ensure resolution of manufacturing problems
  • Work closely with Procurement to ensure a timely order of materials
  • Develop and maintain good customer relations and provide technical support to the customer
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair and modify existing designs
  • Complex problem-solving skills: Identify problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions
  • Judgment and decision-making skills: considering the costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical products and / or processes and ability to optimize designs for manufacturing
  • Proven 2D / 3D CAD skills (CREO 20.7 / Windchill, SolidWorks, FEA and AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP systems
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and sheet metal design, including drafting, tolerance stack-up analysis, manufacturability, and production considerations.
  • PC Skills and able to use Microsoft products

Requirements:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in machine design preferably in material handling industry
