Summary Statement

Join the Division of Social Services as a Management Analyst II! In this position, you'll collect and analyze the statistical data from the division's management, programs, and policies and procedures to support the State Agency Conference Unit. Using the data, you'll determine cost efficiencies, assigning cases as needed, assist in determining if corrective action is needed, and ensure compliance with goals and objectives. This will also involve support of recommendation developments to management.\r\n

Essential Functions

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Reports to an administrative or technical superior and works under well defined policies.\r\n Review and analyzes managerial practices and procedures including organization, procedural techniques, decision making, communications, staffing and management controls within a division.\r\n Reviews and interprets applicable Federal and State directives, instructions and guidelines and recommends operational changes for compliance.\r\n Participates in studies in which needs and problems are identified, objectives are clarified and defined and alternate approaches are explored and assessed.\r\n Performs short-and long-term analysis for use in revisions and modification of operational programs and policies. \r\n May involve instructing training courses as required.\r\n Evaluates statistical data and may forecast resources and operating costs.\r\n Monitors services provided by agency staff and/or outside agencies for operational and fiscal compliance with departmental, state and federal rules and regulations and/or to determine if services meet operational goals and objectives.\r\n Writes proposals, procedural manuals, special and routine reports.\r\n Contacts include internal and external agencies regarding, fiscal, operational and managerial adherence to state, department and division rules and regulations.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Management Analyst II\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Six months experience in conducting studies which includes evaluating operations, programs, services, policies and procedures to determine efficiency, effectiveness, whether goals and objectives are met and compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.\r\n Six months experience in descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode or standard deviation.\r\n Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.\r\n Six months experience in narrative report writing.\r\n Knowledge of designing studies which includes determining study goals and objectives, information needed, data sources, sampling and collection methods.\r\n Knowledge of making recommendations for continuation or changes to operations, programs, services, policies or procedures based on findings.\r\n Knowledge of inferential statistics such as correlation, t-tests, f-tests or analysis of variance.\r\n\r\n\r\n
