Job description

Your role

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager (ASM - Outside Salesperson) to join our organization that will develop business with focus on increasing revenues and growing market share; increase profitability and customer base by selling value and securing existing customers. The ASM will report to the Regional Sales Manager.  

You will

  • Engage in face-to-face and remote sales to new customers, as well as cross/up/repeat sales to existing customers. 
  • Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and/or solutions. 
  • Analyze territory trends and market data to inform strategy. 
  • Promote products to achieve assigned rental and sales revenue goals, preparing presentations and 4 panel focus on customer needs and pain points
  • Ensure successful implementation of sales strategies by leveraging your technical expertise and understanding of customer needs.
  • May assist in collecting customer accounts.
  • May assist in familiarizing and training customers on equipment making sure they know how to operate the equipment properly to avoid/reduce downtime and service calls.
  • Implements, sustains, and develops quality process improvements that focus on safety, financials, operations and customer service.
To succeed, you will need

  • You have a minimum of three years of industrial sales experience, with demonstrated successful sales experience in industrial equipment/service like air compressors, nitrogen generators, steam generators or a related field preferred.  Familiar with SalesForce/CRM, PDCA and account management. 
  • Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Technical field of study, with business, customer service, or sales experience.  Alternatively bachelors degree in business, or similar, with industry related experience working with technical sales or business
  • Demonstrated selling and interpersonal communications skills, with excellent oral and written communication
  • Customer service orientation and ability to keep the commitments and build trust
  • Able to work with sales and budge forecasts; to apply effective seling practices and techniques; and to conduct productive cold calling, prospecting, and customer sourcing activities
  • Able to work effectively as a team player, and to work independently with little supervision, using organizational and time management skills
