Job description

Opportunity

We are a consumer tech company, and at the heart of our technology and innovation is mobile and IoT. We are always looking for software engineers who are passionate about creating delightful mobile experiences, and open to learning new technologies and taking on technical challenges. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will showcase your attention to detail, write and promote highly readable and scalable code, and share your knowledge and experience with the other technical staff. You are also someone we can rely on to tackle highly complex problems and bugs, and promote best practices along the way. This role will report to the engineering director.

Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
  • Build best in class fitness and wellness mobile apps.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Focus on overall product quality and user experience.
  • Take initiative and be responsible for technical solutions.
  • Mentor and coach new engineering hires and other software engineers.
  • Take on additional  responsibilities as needed, including on-call rotations.
  • Would prefer candidates who are comfortable with wearing a CGM or other health sensors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely-related.
  • Experience building Android and/or iOS apps that integrate health sensors (Continuous Glucose Monitors, smartwatches, BP monitors, smart scales, etc.) and deliver a seamless, user-friendly experience. 
  • Either 3+ years of Android software development experience OR 3+ years of iOS software development experience.
  • Either 3+ years writing software in Kotlin programming language OR Swift programming language.
  • Strong proficiency building modern UIs with Jetpack Compose OR SwiftUI (1+ years commercial experience preferred).
  • 1+ year of experience designing and implementing local databases using SQLite and mobile side caching.
  • Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code).
  • Demonstrated engineering taste - as AI increasingly writes the code and system design, we evaluate candidates on their judgment of what is simple, readable, and worth building, plus the mobile sensibilities and UX instincts to know what feels right in a user's hands.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Deep experience and expertise in both iOS and Android development.
  • 1+ year of Flutter and Dart development experience.
  • 1+ year of Python/AI development experience in AWS.
  • Experience in mobile software CI/CD, developing iOS Bluetooth/IoT solutions, iOS security.
  • The successful candidate must be interested in and capable of learning new coding languages as required. Within 90 days, this position necessitates developing proficiency or mastery in Flutter, Dart, Python, AWS, and AI system design.

Compensation and Benefits  

The compensation range for this position is $160,000-$180,000 annually.
