Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and engage in treatment planning, including the development of pre-crisis and crisis plans, risk assessments, and positive behavior support strategies.
• Ensure timely completion of all documentation in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, using evidence-based tools recommended by the clinical team.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to implement positive behavior support and promote a community-minded approach to mental health care.
• Act as a liaison with relevant service systems, governmental agencies, and local community partners to enhance service delivery and advocate for patient needs.
• Engage in the accreditation processes, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and requirements.
• Foster strong communication channels to meet contract obligations and promote the agency’s mission within the community.
• Seek out opportunities for personal and professional development, including attending relevant conferences and participating in committees related to mental health best practices.
• Maintain alignment with the organization's mission and values while performing additional duties as directed by the Clinic Director.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work primarily with diverse populations, including individuals facing emotional distress, substance use challenges, and developmental impairments. Our focus is on delivering tailored support that encourages self-sufficiency and social inclusion, often utilizing individualized care plans and holistic therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in a behavioral health discipline is required.
• Current Independent LMHC License issued by the state board.
• Proven ability to maintain clinical records accurately and prepare necessary reports effectively.
• Strong collaborative skills for working within an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent communication abilities to express ideas and recommendations clearly.
• Capacity to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions based on professional knowledge and experience.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient mental health settings is highly valued.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices in mental health counseling.
• Prior involvement in community outreach or advocacy efforts will be advantageous.
