Responsibilities

Assist with Medicaid and charity care application procedures, educating patients about their financial liabilities, and developing patient payment arrangements for said liabilities. The Financial Counselor is a facility-based position.

Qualifications

Education

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's from a recognized college or university Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3 years of previous related healthcare Revenue Cycle experience, preferably with a focus in Financial Counseling Required
  • 4 years of previous related healthcare Revenue Cycle experience, preferably with a focus in Financial Counseling Preferred
  • Call center experience. Preferred
  • Previous Epic experience. Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • None Required
  • Certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association Preferred
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative Preferred
