As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations and help build a scalable finance organization.


Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including month-end close, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will work closely with the Finance team to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

Success in this role means consistently delivering accurate accounting work, meeting close deadlines, maintaining well-supported financial records, and continuously improving accounting processes while developing broad technical accounting expertise.


What You'll Do

Support the Financial Close

·       Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll entries, and other month-end activities.

·       Maintain assigned general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.

·       Analyze account activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items.

·       Maintain organized, audit-ready supporting documentation.

·       Complete assigned close responsibilities in accordance with the monthly close calendar.

Financial Reporting

·       Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting.

·       Prepare supporting schedules and perform account fluctuation analyses.

·       Research budget-to-actual and period-over-period variances.

·       Support ad hoc reporting and financial analysis requests.

Accounting Operations

·       Support accounting activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and employee expenses.

·       Reconcile subsidiary systems to the general ledger.

·       Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring proper coding and documentation.

Audit, Compliance & Process Improvement

·       Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and tax support.

·       Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

·       Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency.

·       Assist with system enhancements, automation initiatives, and special Finance projects.


What You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience.
  • Understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using an ERP or accounting system.

Preferred

  • Public accounting or corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience in a high-growth, private equity-backed organization.
  • Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP.
  • CPA eligibility or progress toward certification.
  • Experience supporting financial statement audits.
