Job description

WHO YOU ARE

You are a hands-on accounting leader who has built a strong foundation across the accounting function and is ready to take the next significant step in your career. You have developed broad accounting experience within a small to mid-sized, multi-entity organization, where you have been close to the details and understand what it takes to successfully manage the day-to-day accounting needs of a growing business while leading others to deliver results.

You combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a practical, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership approach. You are equally comfortable setting direction and stepping into the work—moving between financial reporting, revenue recognition, cash forecasting, treasury, accounting operations, systems, and process improvement. You do not simply identify problems or delegate them—you take ownership, mobilize the right people, develop solutions, and drive them through to completion.

You are an effective people leader who can establish clear expectations, hold others accountable, develop talent, and execute through a team while remaining willing to step into the details when needed. You understand that strong leadership in a growing organization requires balancing strategic oversight with tactical execution. You are responsive, resourceful, curious, and motivated by the opportunity to build, improve, and lead from the front.

Whether you are currently a strong Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or an early-career Controller, you have developed the depth and leadership capability to take on broader ownership. You bring experience working within a multi-entity, global accounting environment and are comfortable navigating the complexities that come with supporting operations across multiple entities, countries, and time zones. You are ready for a role where you can lead a global accounting team, influence how the function operates, and continue developing as a Finance leader.

If you are ready for your next significant career move and excited by the opportunity to lead while staying close to the work, FPG may be the right place for you. This role is designed for a high-potential accounting leader who wants meaningful responsibility, visibility, and the opportunity to strengthen and evolve the accounting function of a growing global organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As Corporate Controller at FPG, you will serve as a key leader within Finance, providing leadership and oversight across the company's global, multi-entity accounting operations while remaining closely connected to the day-to-day work of the team. This is a player-coach role: you will set expectations and direction, develop and hold the team accountable, execute through others, and roll up your sleeves when the business needs hands-on support.

You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening accounting processes and controls, and building scalable infrastructure to support the evolving needs of the business.

You will lead a global accounting organization with team members located across multiple countries and time zones and support the accounting needs of a multi-entity organization. You will oversee financial and management reporting, technical accounting and revenue recognition, cash forecasting, treasury, accounting operations, and financial controls. You will lead the financial close process, partnering closely with the Assistant Controller and accounting team to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time. Because the team operates globally, success in this role requires flexibility and the ability to connect with and lead team members across different working hours when needed.

You will also play a critical role in advancing the Finance function through automation, systems optimization, and process improvement. You will identify opportunities to reduce manual work, strengthen controls, improve integrations, and create more efficient and scalable ways of working—then lead the team through execution and adoption.

As a leader within Finance, you will develop the accounting team, establish clear expectations and accountability, and foster a culture of responsiveness, ownership, collaboration, and follow-through. You will know when to delegate and coach, when to challenge the team to solve a problem, and when to step directly into the work to ensure the organization delivers.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT
  • Build and improve scalable accounting processes, controls, and reporting structures across a global, multi-entity organization.

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, partnering with the Assistant Controller and accounting team to ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting deliverables.

  • Prepare and oversee financial and management reporting, including revenue, margins, operating expenses, profitability, cash flow, and key business drivers.

  • Serve as a technical accounting resource with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

  • Review contracts and complex transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment.

  • Own the company's cash forecasting process, including 13-week and rolling 12-month forecasts, forecast-to-actual analysis, and liquidity planning.

  • Manage treasury activities, banking administration, cash positioning, and related financial controls.

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Accounts Payable function through the AP Supervisor.

  • Lead and develop accounting staff while establishing clear expectations, accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through.

  • Maintain and strengthen balance sheet reconciliations, accounting controls, policies, and supporting documentation.

  • Lead accounting and Finance automation, systems optimization, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as a Finance systems subject-matter expert across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Xero, banking platforms, and related systems.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve system integrations, strengthen controls, and increase reporting efficiency and accuracy.

  • Partner with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to understand financial results, resolve accounting matters, and support informed business decisions.

  • Coordinate external audit activities and support tax, compliance, and other financial reporting requirements.

  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes and infrastructure to ensure they effectively support the evolving needs and continued growth of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with broad, hands-on exposure across the accounting function.

  • Current or recent experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, early-career Controller, or comparable accounting leadership role.

  • Experience within a small to mid-sized organization where you have worked across multiple areas of accounting and remained close to day-to-day financial operations.

  • Demonstrated experience working within a multi-entity accounting environment.

  • Experience supporting global or international accounting operations, including working across multiple countries, entities, or geographically dispersed teams.

  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle with demonstrated experience leading or playing a significant role in month-end and year-end close.

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

  • Hands-on ASC 606 revenue recognition experience.

  • Experience reviewing contracts and transactions and determining appropriate accounting treatment.

  • Strong financial and management reporting experience, including revenue, margins, operating expenses, profitability, balance sheet, and cash flow.

  • Experience with cash forecasting, treasury, cash management, and banking activities.

  • Experience leading, supervising, coaching, and developing accounting staff.

  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving accounting processes, controls, or reporting infrastructure.

  • Experience with accounting automation, ERP optimization, systems implementation, or process improvement initiatives.

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong overall financial systems aptitude.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Xero strongly preferred; experience with comparable ERP and accounting platforms will also be considered.

  • CPA preferred, but not required.

  • Experience within SaaS, professional services, or a similarly dynamic accounting environment preferred.

  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership capabilities with the confidence to establish expectations, drive accountability, and make decisions.

  • Exceptional responsiveness, communication, ownership, and follow-through.

  • Proactive and capable of working independently, managing competing priorities, and delivering under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in response to the evolving needs of the business.
