Job description

Mass Claims LegalTech Company and Law Firm | 100% Remote Work Environment

About Us

We've originated over 2.7 million clients since 2019 by combining world-class direct response marketing with the most sophisticated data infrastructure in legal. Our marketing has driven over $1 billion in real cash inflows, with $2 billion+ in expected fees pending. We're the highest-volume case originator in the legal vertical — built by a small team of exceptional individuals who believe one brilliant strategy beats 100 mediocre ones.

We move fast, we scale hard, and the numbers behind that growth have to be airtight. That's where you come in.

The Role

As Controller, you won't be buried in a back office reconciling last year's numbers — you'll be the financial backbone of a company deploying 8-figure marketing budgets that can spike into 9-figures during high-volume periods. Cash moves fast here, across multiple states and complex fee structures, and you'll be the person who makes sure every dollar is accounted for, every close is clean, and leadership always has the real numbers to make big bets with confidence.
***This is a HANDS-ON role. We need someone who can work the full accounting cycle personally, end to end.
***100% Remote Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements on a fast timeline

Build and maintain internal controls that can keep pace with rapid growth and high transaction volume

Manage multi-state payroll, accounting, and compliance operations for a distributed remote workforce

Partner directly with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy as the company scales

Coordinate audits, tax filings, and relationships with outside CPAs and advisors

Bring visibility and precision to a business where the financial data drives multi-million dollar decisions

What We're Looking For

Experience: Proven track record as a Controller or senior accounting leader, ideally in a high-growth or high-volume environment

Background: Comfort with complex, multi-state operations and fast-scaling budgets

Technical: Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and modern accounting systems

Technology: Be an Excel Ninja with the ability to integrate Claude and other AI tools into your everyday workflows.

Mindset: Someone who finds real satisfaction in a clean close and a balanced book — precision as a point of pride

Philosophy: Numbers aren't just historical record-keeping to you — they're the foundation leadership uses to make its next big move

The Bottom Line

We need someone who gets genuinely excited about a books that tie out perfectly and a close that comes in early. Someone who sees multi-state complexity as a puzzle worth solving, not a headache to avoid. Someone who wants their financial leadership to directly shape how aggressively this company can grow.

If you want to be the financial backbone of a company built on speed, scale, and precision — let's talk.
