Job description

Director Finance and Corporate Development - Fully Remote

North American Dental Group is seeking an experienced Finance leader for our Director of Finance and Corporate Development role.  

NADG is a leading dental services organization in the United States and consists of a network of over 200 dental practices in 15 states and 27 regional markets in the US.  Our entrepreneurial culture and relentless focus on best-in-class patient and team member care serves as a key differentiator in this attractive, high growth, dynamic industry. 

The Director of Finance and Corporate Development will report to the CFO and work in close partnership with him across all aspects of his role – spanning general corporate finance management, financial planning and analysis, financing activity, financial reporting, payer relations, and acquisition diligence/execution.  NADG is seeking a well-rounded Finance executive that not only drives the day-to-day operations of the business but also develops a deep understanding of its key drivers.  The successful candidate will be action oriented and help his/her colleagues achieve their highest potential in a thoughtful considerate way that is aligned with NADG’s servant leadership philosophy.   

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes: 

  • Quickly develop a deep understanding of the NADG business model and its points of differentiation  
  • Serve as a general corporate finance leader within the organization in partnership with the CFO; help drive continuous improvement across Accounting, FP&A, Payer Relations, Treasury, and Tax  
  • Direct all aspects of the annual corporate budget process and partner closely with operations and corporate leaders to drive profitable growth 
  • Partner with Clinical and Operational leaders to help facilitate the Doctor Equity Partner and Joint Venture programs 
  • Develop, mentor, and coach rising talent within the Finance organization 
  • Conduct financial modeling of structures, business plans, and commercial arrangements 
  • Prepare and present opportunities / initiatives for review by executive management and the Board of Directors 
  • Collaborate with the cross functional leaders to achieve corporate goals 
  • Execute an M&A strategy that aligns to overall corporate strategy and goals 
  • Lead due diligence and deal execution on M&A processes 
  • Manage key external relationships including financing sources and advisors as part of the deal process 
  • Assist in company financing efforts; experience in debt capital markets is a plus 
  • Occassional travel required

Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated expertise in operating an FP&A function across a distributed business model  
  • Strong business and financial acumen to facilitate strategic planning, business reviews, market and opportunity assessments, and financial analysis of opportunities 
  • Excellent executive presence and leadership skills to effectively work cross functionally in the organization with track record building collaborative relationships with team members (peers, staff, executive level and Board of Directors) 
  • Significant experience directing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data, including market and competitor analysis, customer analysis, technology assessment and financial modeling 
  • Demonstrated experience in program management to drive projects to completion in a timely manner 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, and strong influencing skills at various levels 
  • High degree of attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities required 
  • Experience with financial analysis and planning tools like PowerBI, Workday Adaptive, Great Plains, and Sage Intacct highly preferred 
  • 6-10 years of experience in corporate finance, private equity principal investing, portfolio company management, and/or corporate development  
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
