Job description

Location: Remote USA
Commitment: Part-Time 20-25 hours/week
Duration: 8 weeks
Comp: $25/hour
About Us
Ottimate is an AI-powered AP [Accounts Payable] automation platform that empowers finance teams to reduce costs, prevent overpayments, detect fraud, and enforce policy compliance across the entire invoice-to-payment lifecycle.
As a Finance Intern, you won't just be learning traditional corporate finance-you'll get a front-row seat to how a fast-growing, Series-B B2B SaaS company manages its financial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
You will work closely with our core internal finance team, taking ownership of general operations and gaining wide exposure to SaaS metrics and modern corporate accounting:
  • Internal Financial Operations: Assist with day-to-day corporate AP and accounting tasks-living our mission by helping manage workflows, vendor records, and internal reconciliations.
  • SaaS Metric Tracking: Support the team in tracking and organizing key SaaS growth data (such as ARR, MRR, customer churn, and net revenue retention) for executive dashboards.
  • Expense Management Support: Help process internal employee expense reports, manage corporate spend logs, and cross-reference purchasing documentation.
  • Month-End Close Support: Partner with internal accountants during the month-end closing process, assisting with bank ledger updates, data verification, and journal entries.
  • Platform & Tool Testing: Gain deep product knowledge by utilizing modern ERP integrations (like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks) and seeing how financial data maps across systems.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Help research market trends, organize data for financial audits, and support special strategic projects for the corporate operations team.

Requirements
We are looking for a proactive, tech-forward individual who loves numbers and is eager to learn how cutting-edge financial tech is built:
  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Spreadsheet Fluency: Strong foundation in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (comfort with formulas like VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and Pivot Tables is required).
  • Tech-Curious Mindset: An interest in AI, automation, and B2B SaaS. Familiarity with standard accounting tools or a desire to master cloud ERPs is a big plus.
  • Meticulous Eye for Detail: In finance, the little numbers matter. You pride yourself on accuracy and spot errors before others do.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are comfortable collaborating across fully remote or hybrid team settings.

Benefits
Ottimate is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability status, or marital status. If you are excited about the role but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. Nothing in this job posting should be construed as an offer or guarantee of employment.
