LOCATION: Remote
REPORTING STRUCTURE: ROCC MR Lead, Modality Director
The ROCC MRI Technologist operates the ROCC Magnetic Resonance operations at SimonMed Imaging centers for their assigned region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Competent in performing all general and advanced level imaging procedures and provide support for the onsite positioning technologist(s) as needed.
  • Checks the order for complete information, proper exam and schedules as needed.
  • Obtains sufficient information to determine the priority of the exam performed.
  • Performs MR procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Operates equipment safely and maintains SimonMed standards while performing all types of procedures, protocols, QA guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works under general supervision of the ROCC MR Lead.
  • Interacts appropriately with patients, staff, and all care providers.
  • Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology.
  • Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  • Selects appropriate imaging techniques, and operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in automatic processor.
  • Obtains images, produces film records and backups from disk to storage media, and transfers from desk to PACS stations.
  • Maintains accurate study documentation.
  • Assists with MR Safety screening and manipulation of protocols for given active/passive implants.
  • Performs and communicates with professionalism and patient care focus.
  • Be point of contact for ROCC Positioners and onsite technologists for the technical aspect of MRI
  • Conducts and completes QA/QC checklists according to standard operating procedure.
  • Monitor and correct assigned NTT's.
  • Demonstrates competency in the performance of job related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
  • Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty (preferred).

License/Certification:
  • Requires MRI certification and registration.
  • Requires valid ARRT or ARMRIT certification.
  • Requires a valid "Hands On" CPR.

Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking, and requires pushing patients in wheelchairs, sitting for prolonged periods of time, frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching and occasional balancing and stooping. Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential. Must be able to work in an environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. May be exposed to biohazards and chemicals as outlined in the MSDS Manual; and other hazards/unpleasant working conditions
