What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote fertility, and why are they important?

To excel in a Remote Fertility Specialist role, candidates typically need a background in reproductive health, counseling, and fertility care, often supported by a relevant degree or certification such as RN, NP, or embryology credentials. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic medical records, and fertility diagnostic tools is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly are highly valued. These capabilities ensure high-quality patient support, effective virtual care delivery, and positive outcomes for individuals navigating fertility challenges remotely.

What are some common challenges faced by remote fertility professionals, and how do they overcome them?

Remote fertility professionals often encounter challenges such as building rapport with patients virtually, maintaining clear communication across time zones, and ensuring accurate assessment without in-person interactions. Additionally, team collaboration through regular virtual meetings and consultations with physicians and lab staff helps maintain high-quality care. Many remote fertility roles offer ongoing training and support networks to help professionals adapt and thrive in a remote care environment.

Senior Staff Product Manager, Fertility & Family Building

Maven Clinic

San Francisco, CA โ€ข On-site, Remote

$149K - $196K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 9 days ago

Job description

Fertility is one of the most important and uncertain journeys a person can go through. It's emotionally complex, medically nuanced, and often filled with more questions than answers.

Maven Fertility product and virtual clinic help people build the family they want. We're looking for a Senior Staff PM to own the member-facing fertility product end-to-end. Meeting someone at the start of their journey and staying with them through every decision, setback, and milestone, helping them reach their goals in the shortest time and with the least intervention.

You will report to the Director of Clinical Product and work closely with Maternity, Member Experience, Clinical, Healthcare and AI Platform teams. The right person has deep health-tech experience (ideally in the fertility space), strong data instincts, and moves fast.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the Fertility & Family Building product surface across the full member journey, including natural conception and in treatment.
  • Define the metrics that matter, instrument them, and drive improvement week over week: engagement, activation, clinical outcomes
  • Build and run a high-velocity experimentation engine: form hypotheses, ship tests, read results honestly, and compound learnings
  • Bring a strong point of view on how AI changes what we build and how fast we build it, and put it to work in your own workflow
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across clinical, engineering, design, client success, and growth

What we are looking for

  • 10+ years in product with meaningful time in health-tech, preferably fertility or a high-stakes consumer domain
  • Experience shipping consumer-facing and AI-powered features in production, not just prototyping them
  • Strong data instincts: you define the right metrics, work with complex datasets, and communicate findings credibly across clinical and commercial audiences
  • Founder mentality: you own the outcome, not just the workstream, and push through ambiguity without waiting for permission
  • Deep clinical empathy: the emotional and medical stakes of fertility journeys show up in your product decisions
  • Cross-functional fluency: as comfortable in a clinical review as a data deep-dive or an engineering sprint

The base salary range for this role isย 245,000-340,000 per year.ย You will also be entitled to receive equity and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on qualifications, experience, and skillset.

Maven embraces a flexible hybrid work model. This role is open to candidates in remote locations with a strong preference for San Francisco, CA; secondary locations include Seattle, WA and New York, NY.

Our teams primarily operate from the New York Metropolitan area, NY, San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, and Seattle, WA. For those in our New York City office, we encourage in-person collaboration by requiring team members to work onsite three days a weekย  (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). For those based in San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, and Seattle, WA, we encourage in-person collaboration by requiring team members to attend quarterly Work Together Days within these cities. This policy aims to balance remote work flexibility with the benefits of face-to-face interaction.
