About the Role:

The Territory Manager role is ideal for a results-driven sales professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, growing existing accounts, and uncovering new business opportunities within an assigned region. This position is well suited to candidates with experience in territory sales, channel sales, distributor management, or contractor-facing business development, particularly within building materials, construction products, manufacturing, or related industries. In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth, achieving or exceeding territory targets, and strengthening brand presence in the market. You will work closely with customers and channel partners to deliver clear, value-based product guidance, identify opportunities for expansion, and position solutions that support their business needs. *This role is remote and open to candidates based in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Eastern Tennessee.Responsibilities
  • Grow and retain existing accounts by understanding customer needs, recommending solutions, and building long-term relationships.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the territory.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy.
  • Conduct joint sales calls with customers, partners, and prospects.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, installations, and hands-on training.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and complete required reporting (e.g., sales activity, expenses, service/quality).
  • Support sales planning, including budgets and forecasts.
  • Represent the company within local industry and trade organizations.
  • Communicate company service guidelines and ensure customer understanding.
  • Develop strong product and market knowledge, including competitive offerings.
  • Build strategic partnerships by aligning with partners' business goals and capabilities.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans with key partners, including regular performance reviews.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of successful sales experience, preferably in the Building Materials industry
  • Experience in the Commercial & Industrial market preferred
  • Experience selling through distribution required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the building and construction industry and sales principles
  • Experience using ERP/CRM systems, such as Bridge or Salesforce
  • Ability to develop and execute practical, results-driven sales strategies
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Able to build relationships, collaborate effectively, and support customers and colleagues
  • Strong decision-making, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in both industrial/manufacturing and corporate settings, as needed
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
