Job Description:

We're looking for a Contract Paralegal Associate to join a growing legal team supporting high-impact litigation and advocacy work. This role will provide critical support across multiple active projects and attorneys, helping ensure smooth case management and high-quality legal filings during a busy pre-election season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain case files, documents, and litigation records
  • Assist attorneys with preparing and finalizing legal memos, pleadings, and court filings
  • Support the discovery process and help coordinate filing logistics
  • Conduct legal research and help draft memoranda, reports, and related materials
  • Perform citation checks and Bluebook formatting on legal documents
  • Fact-check, proofread, and support drafting of public-facing materials and correspondence

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience, ideally within a nonprofit civil litigation setting
  • Must have experience Blue booking and site-checking experience
  • Hands-on experience with pleadings, discovery drafting, correspondence, and administrative filings (e.g., pro hac vice applications)
  • Familiarity with federal and state/local civil procedure rules; appellate experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing high volumes of documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable managing priorities across multiple attorneys/projects and communicating up, down, and across teams
  • Proficiency with Westlaw required; experience with case management platforms (e.g., FileVine) a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail

Additional Details:

This is a project-based assignment supporting a legal team of 30–40 attorneys, reporting to a dedicated paralegal team lead while flexibly supporting different attorneys depending on project needs. Candidates should be prepared to use their own laptop for this assignment.
