Role Profile - Clinical Diagnostic Liaison (CDL)

The Clinical Diagnostics Liaison (CDL) is a field-based professional within the Medical Affairs organization, serving as part of a clinically focused team. The CDL plays a critical role in delivering disease-state education, increasing awareness of the company and its clinical programs, and driving patient identification efforts within the medical community.

CDLs provide clinical and disease awareness support for a rare disease program by engaging healthcare providers in meaningful, compliant clinical exchange. Key responsibilities include calling on targeted healthcare professionals with the objective of directly engaging providers and staff, communicating relevant disease-state information, and facilitating early diagnosis and identification of appropriate patients for clinical trial consideration.

The CDL is responsible for accurately capturing and maintaining interactions and insights within the company's CRM system. CDLs will interact with the multidisciplinary team, mapping patient journeys, and activating referral pathways to clinical trial sites.

This role requires a highly credible and professional individual with strong clinical knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and a highly proactive, results-driven approach. The ideal candidate brings an assertive, opportunity-seeking "hunter" mentality-demonstrating persistence, strategic outreach, and a strong sense of ownership in identifying new provider relationships, uncovering undiagnosed or misdiagnosed patient populations, and accelerating patient identification efforts. This individual must be comfortable operating compliantly within a matrix structure. Position is remote and will require 75% travel including overnight business travel.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $170K - $180K. The salary range displayed may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, certain degrees, certifications, and other relevant factors.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Clinical Diagnostic Liaison

  • Maintain comprehensive clinical knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas, and evolving clinical landscape related to our client's clinical trial
  • Perform duties around territory management and upkeep of CRM system, ensuring data accuracy
  • Increase disease awareness related to targeted physicians/staff and accurately document findings appropriately in the CRM
  • Provide physician and staff insights for use during planning and strategy meetings
  • Collaborate with field and internal cross-functional teams
  • Establish and coordinate a health care partnership with relevant stakeholders
  • Self-directed territory management and travel to ensure that targets are reached in an efficient manner

Experience:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degree or clinical license preferred RN, PharmD, PhD, PA, MSN, DNP
  • Pharma field experience required
  • Rare disease experience preferred
  • Strong clinical communication, learning acumen, relationship building and presentation skills
  • High EQ with strong resilience and soft skills
  • Experience developing and activating referral networks for clinical trial recruitment preferred

As a representative of a pharmaceutical company, you may be required to submit and maintain credentials, such as training, vaccinations, and other job-related documentation to gain access to hospitals or healthcare providers. Additionally, certain geographic jurisdictions or hospital systems have requirements to apply for and obtain a representative license. At this time, representatives working in the District of Columbia, City of Chicago, State of Nevada, State of Oregon, or those associated with Jackson Memorial Health in Miami-Dade County Florida may be required to obtain specific licenses.
