This role involves supporting the system build, implementation, and maintenance activities for the OneRTX initiative. OneRTX aims to harmonize key business processes, tools, metrics, and reporting across the organization, facilitating the transition to standardized ERP systems.

RTX has chosen SAP’s S/4HANA to enable our future ERP system and has largely concluded the strategic definition and design phase and is now entering the initial blueprinting, build and support phases.

This role is responsible for contributing to the successful delivery within each phase of the program including:

  • Build – collaborate with an integrated team of external resources and internal RTX team members in the configuration and development of system capabilities.

  • Testing – support the creation and execution of test scenarios and scripts; work alongside business leaders and testers to ensure proper functionality and defect resolution.

  • Cutover & Hypercare – support successful migration from legacy systems to new environments. Support go-live and the continuation of RTX business’ financial and operational performance.

The SAP GTS Configuration Lead will support the design, implementation, and support efforts for the SAP Global Trade Services solution to streamline RTX’s global trade compliance and customs processes. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in SAP GTS implementations and configuration with a strong knowledge of international trade regulations and a proven track record of delivering end-to-end GTS implementations.

You are the ideal candidate if you have experience working within an organization that is responsible for driving large scale, complex programs and projects related to business process and system transformation, ideally using SAP’s S/4HANA solution.

What You Will Do:

  • Configure and customize SAP GTS modules (Compliance, Customs, Risk Management, and Electronic Reporting).

  • Lead end-to-end implementations, including configuration, SAP S/4HANA integration, and testing.

  • Collaborate with business and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and align processes with SAP GTS capabilities.

  • Enhance GTS processes using S/4HANA GTS module while aligning with RTX's operating model and industry best practices.

  • Develop innovative solutions to support digital strategies and design goals.

  • Evaluate and recommend bolt-on applications based on functional needs and best practices.

  • Assist with data mapping and testing for process and data teams.

  • Document configurations, process flows, and data policies for common solutions.

  • Provide functional specifications for forms, reports, enhancements, integrations, and workflows within the GTS program scope.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • Hands-on technical experience configuring, building, and implementing SAP GTS, including Compliance and Customs Management, as well as integration with SAP EWM and other logistics modules.

  • Background in export/import legal control processes, such as license determination, embargo checks, duty savings through preference management, and conducting risk assessments with mitigation strategies.

  • Involvement in managing and updating compliance master data (e.g., ECCNs, HTS codes), customs valuation, duty calculations, and preference management processes.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Exposure of implementing Extended Warehouse Management

  • Prior experience working on large, complex Aerospace & Defense enterprise projects -- or similarly regulated, large organization

  • Experience with agile frameworks/iterative approaches to software development and implementation projects
