Job description

Overview

Opportunity: Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are seeking a Corporate Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our rapidly growing Strategic Operations team at HHM Hotels; a dynamic department focused on turning time and cost savings into P&L impact for our owners. In this role, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our Expedia billing process while gaining direct exposure to virtually all major Property Management Systems (PMS) and collaborating across multiple corporate and on-property departments. This position provides an incredible opportunity to transition from field operations to a corporate team, where you will take direct ownership of your own dedicated project.

Your Focus

  • Review payments received from Expedia across multiple PMS systems
  • Reconcile payments with the AR ledger
  • Identify discrepancies and work with GM, accounting team, and expedia to resolve quickly
  • Work with our external vendor, who handles the Expedia billing on our behalf
  • Gather AR aging report weekly from each property for review to ensure balances remain under 60 days
  • Work with the wider Strategic Operations team to scale the program
  • From time-to-time, prepare presentations on the program effectiveness and P&L impact
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background and Skills

  • Bachelors degree strongly preferred.
  • Previous accounting experience or equivalent training required.
  • Proficient in using Excel.
  • Knowledge of PMS/accounting systems preferred.
  • Ideally, previous experience with Expedia Direct Billing process.
  • Ideally, experience working with at least one PMS system.
  • Understanding of AR invoicing and clearing process.
  • Strong communication skills over email.
  • Self-contained / exploratory mindset to solve problems.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with General Managers / external Expedia reps.
