• Establish a trusting relationship with clients to create a safe space for them to process their experiences related to alcohol use and other mental health challenges.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to create personalized treatment plans that align with each client’s goals.
• Practice active listening and deliver empathetic responses, allowing clients to feel heard and valued, which is essential for effective rehabilitation.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers, medical staff at the hospice center, and family members, to offer a comprehensive plan of care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops and training to continually refine your counseling skills and methodologies.

Your primary focus will be on individuals who are dealing with alcohol use issues, often in challenging life situations, including those facing terminal illnesses or complex life transitions. Understanding your clients' diverse backgrounds and emotional struggles is paramount in delivering tailored and respectful counseling services that promote healing and wellness.

• A Master's Degree in Social Work or a related mental health field is mandatory.
• Must hold an active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Washington.
• At least two (2) years of direct experience as a Social Worker is required, with preference given to candidates who have five (5) years or more in similar roles.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with interpersonal skills that foster connection with clients.
• Proficiency in utilizing computer systems, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, to maintain accurate records and schedules.

• Experience in hospice care or with terminally ill patients will be regarded as a significant asset.
• Prior experience using telehealth platforms to conduct counseling sessions.
• Familiarity with community resources and support systems available for individuals with alcohol use disorders.

• A competitive salary in the range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
