• Conduct thorough client assessments to accurately identify mental health conditions and determine therapeutic needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and interviews.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the assessment findings, ensuring alignment with best practices in mental health care.
• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to encourage peer support and shared learning experiences among clients.
• Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to reflect their evolving needs and goals.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive client records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals within Harris Behavioral Health Center to provide holistic care that addresses all aspects of the client's well-being.
• Engage in regular training and professional development opportunities to stay current with emerging trends in mental health and participate in team-based learning.

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Harris Behavioral Health Center will work predominantly with adults facing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and relationship challenges. Understanding the unique cultural and socio-economic backgrounds of each client is crucial in delivering compassionate and effective care.

• Master's degree in mental health counseling, psychology, or a closely related field.
• A valid and unrestricted state license to practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts.
• A minimum of two years of direct experience providing mental health counseling services.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong emphasis on active listening and empathy.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and familiarity with telehealth technologies.
• A solid understanding of mental health treatment options, particularly evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of clients.

• Experience in a remote counseling setting or in an outpatient mental health facility.
• Expertise in group therapy facilitation and conflict resolution strategies.
• Background in working with culturally diverse populations and an understanding of cultural competency in mental health practice.
