This is a unique opportunity for an experienced tax professional who wants more than another management role. You'll lead complex tax planning and advisory engagements, mentor a talented team, build lasting client relationships, and step into a clear path toward firm ownership within 3-5 years.

What You'll Do as the Tax & Advisory Manager:
  • Manage a portfolio of business and individual tax clients while serving as their trusted advisor throughout the year
  • Lead tax planning, projections, and advisory engagements for closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals
  • Review and prepare complex individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and related tax returns
  • Oversee advisory workflow while collaborating closely with the firm's tax compliance team
  • Review staff work, mentor accountants, and help develop the next generation of tax professionals
  • Coordinate tax, accounting, and bookkeeping workflows to ensure clients receive proactive, year-round service
  • Research complex tax matters and develop practical planning strategies for clients
  • Build strong relationships with business owners across industries including construction, healthcare, consulting, and professional services
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to improve processes, leverage technology, and enhance client service
  • Sign tax returns and financial statements in accordance with firm standards and professional regulations
Must-Haves as the Tax & Advisory Manager:
  • CPA license required; Enrolled Agent (EA) designation will also be considered
  • 6+ years of recent public accounting experience
  • Strong background preparing and reviewing complex business and individual tax returns
  • Experience providing proactive tax planning and advisory services
  • Demonstrated success managing client relationships
  • Experience reviewing staff work and mentoring junior accountants
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Desire to grow into firm leadership and future ownership
Nice-to-Haves as the Tax & Advisory Manager:
  • Experience with UltraTax CS
  • Experience using Karbon workflow software
  • QuickBooks Online experience
  • Multi-state tax experience
  • International tax exposure
  • Interest in leveraging AI and emerging technology to improve client service and internal workflows
  • Experience supervising tax managers, seniors, or staff accountants
This Role Offers:
  • Competitive base salary of $120,000-$140,000, depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Clearly defined path toward partnership and firm ownership within approximately 3-5 years
  • Hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote each week
  • Exceptional health insurance with 100% coverage after the deductible and employer HSA contribution
  • Dental, vision, life insurance, and additional voluntary benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off, paid training, parental leave, and professional development support
  • Flexible schedule with approximately 36-hour workweeks outside of tax season, including Friday afternoons off
  • Busy season typically averaging only 50-55 hours per week - significantly below many public accounting firms
  • Collaborative leadership team with direct access to partners and meaningful input into firm operations
