Program Overview

Moms Clean Air Force is a community of more than 1.6 moms, dads, and caregivers united to protect our children's health from air pollution, toxic chemicals and our changing climate. We envision a safe, stable, and equitable future where all children breathe clean air. Moms Clean Air Force works on local, state, and national issues building support for healthy solutions to pollution. We consider ourselves "Mompartisan," working with decision-makers at every level of government and on all sides of the political aisle. Protecting children's health is a nonpartisan issue. Moms Clean Air Force is a program housed within the Environmental Defense Fund.

Overall Function

The Moms Clean Air Force Program Coordinator, Field Events is responsible for coordinating national and field activities to increase the visibility and effectiveness of Moms Clean Air Force with an emphasis on our work in key states across the country. The Program Coordinator, Field Events will report to the Senior Manager, Field Campaigns and have the responsibility of coordinating events, special projects, and field campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator, Field Events responsibilities will include:

  • Support the planning and execution of events, webinars, press conferences, and community activities and other public-facing engagements.

  • Coordinate event logistics, including materials preparation, vendor management and day-of-event support.

  • Assist staff, volunteers, field organizers and speakers with event preparation including speaker communications, prep calls, presentations, and run-of-show development.

  • Coordinate with teams to track event timelines, deliverables, and follow-up activities.

  • Promote events and campaigns on social media channels by creating promotional materials and assisting with event-related communications.

  • Create, edit, and post digital content including graphics, photos, and short videos for social media and serve as on camera talent as needed.

  • Recruit, engage, and mobilize volunteers and advocates to participate in campaigns, public events, media opportunities, and other advocacy activities.

  • Attending press conferences, and events as needed.

  • Assisting with booking travel and handling logistics requests for staff, volunteers, speakers, consultants, conferences and meetings.

  • Assist with administrative support related to contractor and vendor relationships, field activities, campaigns, special projects and maintaining internal systems, including Quorum and shared inbox support.

  • Participate in advancing EDF organizational effectiveness and culture goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant field with at least 3 years of relevant experience. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent may substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Solid understanding of environmental topics, federal environmental policy, and political landscape.

  • Demonstrated event planning and execution skills with a focus on successfully mobilizing volunteers and partners to turn out to events.

  • Experience using digital advocacy tools and managing content on social media platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Ability to film, edit, and produce short-form video content for social media; familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar preferred.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with team members, volunteers, partners, and government officials.

  • Exceptional organizational and record keeping skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Proficient at broadcasting in-person and digital events on social media platforms. Experience with Zoom, Teams, and StreamYard preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Has independent judgment to make decisions on work activities, including identifying and recommending action steps.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to frequent change and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Capable of representing Moms Clean Air Force accurately and confidentially when addressing inquiries.

  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.

  • Limited regional travel required - up to 10% of the time, as needed.
